Default A monkey taught me to fly

Hi guys, Flying Monkey here. Setting up my nephew with a user name.

I felt he needed a place to brag, since he got his first flight (and crash) in today.

I let him fly a converted Super Cub as his first plane, and he was awesome. He flew great, and even did a sucessful take off. The landing on the other hand... well, that darn sign jumped out in front of him. Even at that, the only damage was a busted rubber band. The plane settled right side up and I was able to taxi it back to check the damage. It was flight ready with a small knot in the rubber band.

Welcome him in with regular Wattflyer (and Monkey Cage) style guys.

Thanks

Welcome 'Wilburs Nephew'

Are you sure you want everyone to know you are related to Wilbur?

As mentioned above, we had a great day. Ian is working on editing the videos. I tried flying my design at a property his mother and husband inherited. It was a small field, (1/4 acre?) and it was blowing pretty hard. I misjudged the edge of the tree line, and well, it got stuck.

I broke out an axe, and started hacking away. The tree eventually came down, and Ian found the motor and the camera. Both of which had come loose in the falling of the tree.

There was no damage to the important parts..

Congratulations Ian on your first successful take-off. Sorry to hear about your altercation with the sign, but that just makes you a member of the club is all (right guys??). Also sorry to hear about your family relationships, but remember, you can pick your friends, but NOT your family!!!
(actually, if you look at my signature, I'm one of the monkey's buddies, but I'll not get into that right now...)

I haven't taught him that yet.

Actually, I guess I did. I let him smack the super cub into a sign on an attempted landing.

Other than that, he's had no crashes, a ROG, a few close calls, and even a loop.

He's been doing great, better than when I started.
