Guys, I just had a different Idea. What about a separate plane for Iraq/Afghanistan? I have thought about trying to contact the First Sargeant of my old outfit, but I was in during the late '80's. I don't know where to start. Something simple like a brushless slow stick. I like the Bug because it is so durable but that requires a decent computer radio. If Angler could put it together then we could probably get the uso to move it around incountry. Or maybe MWR could.

Angler-hi, if this sounds like a plausible Idea please let me know. My online club is at our annual fly-in this week, but I'll post the idea their as well. Badius Owners Club/WAA event? We also have all the IRS stuff since we have a physical field in PA. This could work.

Tim,

lmopar would be a good guy to check with on doing that. I know the stuff I sent to the guys over in Iraq have probably rotated out now so I don't have an address.

It is a good idea though. I would post that thought in the General Electric Forum with the title of "Help WattFlyer Support Our Troops" and see what you can scrounge up. I'm sure we can come up with a place/person to send it to. (Just a thought) Your call.

Mr. Piano,

I hate to say it, but we have enough pilots in your area. Right now we are looking for pilots to help fill the gaps. Unfortunately, you are not located in one of those areas. Thanks for volunteering though.

EDIT: I should add that the plane will be coming near you so you are welcome to swing by that guy's field when the WAA-08 plane gets there and fly it if you wish.

Frank

Y'all need a sub Forum showing all the States you have covered.
That way People could see at a glance where you need help.

BTW, I'm in Kentucky if that helps.

KR,

Thanks for the kind words. We have enough pilots in your area, but you are still welcomed to fly the plane when it comes down your way. Can you hook up with Mark M and fly with him when he does?

Is that doable?

As long as he's not too far away, you bet I can be there.
I can bring my Camera equipment and take some Photos & Video.

P.S.
I just looked at the Map and Mark is too far from me to drive, dangit!

I got hurt at work a couple Years back and I have a hard time driving really long distances.
And to think, I was a Truck driver...

KR,

Sorry to hear about your injury. That's a real bummer. Either way you would have to make that drive to drop the plane off to Mark if we did add you to the list though. Keep an eye out, things might change by the time we get to KY.

Logistically I was looking at the Plane either coming from or going to West Virginia or Tennessee, which is closer to drive for me than Louisville, depending on where in those States.

If it comes down to needing me for transportation of the Plane, then I'll step up and deliver it to Mark or get it from him and help get it to the next location, I just couldn't see driving all that way just for Photos in my condition but I'm all in for the cause.

I've noticed that 220 have looked at "My Press Release" posting.
That's a lot of interest, now let's hope that those who have looked at it can see how they can make the "Generic Press Release" work for them.
Good Luck,
Don

Mark,

Plane is with Pilot #16 in NJ. Plans are to have #18 and #16 meet and fly Wed. After that, we should be moving along fairly quickly as I know the NJ & NY crowd is pretty motivated to get us back on schedule.

I hope so also Don!

I have started to include the press release in my pilot notification emails that I send out alerting the next group of pilots to go on alert ().

The new address is actually

http://waa-08.org/

Forget to type the -08 and you get something much less interesting--something about washington bankers or something.

Sad but true.

I've corrected the faulty link that sent folks to the "Washington Accountants Associatiom" that was in my previous posting.

The corrected link is:
http://waa-08.org/
