1. Get in shape and lose weight... Already started. I have been working out in the gym at the Fire Station everyday for the last three weeks now.

2. Be organized for SEFF this year! Grasshopper can tell ya how disombobulated I was last year. That's not going to happen this year!

Other than that I am just going to do the best I can at being myself.

Just about the time I quit. Best thing I ever did. Now Bill try and give up caffeine. Rates right up there with smoking maybe even tougher. Stopped the caffeine 12 years ago.

My resolution is to be here next year at this time caffeine and nicotine free, still. The only addiction I have now is RC flying.

That one is a tough one. A Firefighter with no coffee! Oh the Humanity!

Right now I just want to get my weight back down. I weigh more now than I ever have in my life. It has been steadily climbing since I retired from the Air Force but it stops now. I can't stand being this heavy...

1)Get back into racing touring cars . I've been having the itch lately to race indoor again. And I just bought a nice HPI Pro 4, so I'm gonna do this one .
2)Go to more IMAC comps.
That's about it .

1. Drop some weight (again). Hard to do since I tele-commute from home full time now, which means I can't use the UAW gym anymore. Not a good excuse, but I had a great routine going while I was onsite in Spring Hill.

2. Stick to a budget and make our finances a lot more efficient (refinance our 6.25% mortgage down to 5% or below, switch from Comcast for internet, phone, and TV to something cheaper, make some energy efficiency improvements to our home).

3. Get more active in our church. I used to be crazy active back at my Dad's church when I was growing up, but I haven't been to a Wednesday night service in years now. I'd also really like to take on a role, like maybe teaching a Sunday School class. Or maybe I could start an RC flight ministry.

4. Figure out how to make the crappy 4-channel heli I bought off of craigslist fly. Brushed 480 motor, tail rotor design. Came with a dead NiMH, but I switched it over the 900mah 2S LiPo, which seems to provide plenty of power for the weight. But whenever I get it off the ground, it develops a terrible wobble and becomes uncontrollable. Think I just need to figure out how to balance the rotor.

5. Be the best Daddy ever to my 3 year old little girl as well as the new little lady of the house who'll be arriving in late March/early April.

Oh... and the obvious:

6. Keep my job.

  • Move out of the Peoples Republic of New Jersey .Enter 943,648 reasons here______________________________
  • Set a IGFA line record (fishing )
  • Get our Mustang GT to go 10 something seconds
  • Be more tolerant of stupid, lazy, ignorant,&#%*#@,((#*&#^%#<>^*&*&$*!%[email protected]_&*$....ahem ...people.
  • Polish up flying skills to do a few TD sailplane contests
  • Rebuild warp core ,AKA gravimetric field displacement manifold in interplanet scooter
  • Run The Lisboa Dakar in a Unimog
  • Shoot a unicorn in Atlantis with a Illudium Q-38 Explosive Space Modulator

I'm so terribly sad to hear this, John. But it's extremely noble of you to make the efforts you have in getting others to quit (or better yet, never start). I think there should be a mandatory class kids have to take around 6th grade (or maybe even earlier) where they are introduced to people with a cancer prognosis so that they're full aware of the potential consequences of their actions.

God bless you, my friend. I pray foremost that you would experience a miraculous physical healing, but also that you and your family would be blessed in spirit as you continue to face this struggle.

I doubt New Jersey is as bad as the stereotypes make it sound. But if you ARE considering moving somewhere else, then we'd love to have you here in middle Tennessee. Sure, the winters are cold and WET (as opposed to the cold and ICY ya'll are used to), but cost of living is crazy low, there's no state income tax, and you can't toss a rock without splashing a lake good for fishing, boating, skiing, and/or camping.

Oh, and did I mention there's no state income tax?
