Thanks for the words of wisdom, Steve.
I have been learning the EDF ways of the force with the HL Rafale.
She is a sweet flyer, but as you can see by the epoxy lines and rebuilt nose it wasn't what you'd call a smooth learning curve!

Default GWS A-10 Upgrade

Hey Guys: I was able to get out and shoot this video of my A-10. It's not the greatest since I taped the camera to the bill of my hat and when I edited it in iMovie, it took the resolution down. Still get the idea though. What a great flying plane!

Watching that video, that thing almost sounds like the real one. Just not as loud. The A-10s would fly over my house when I was stationed in Louisiana and those things are loud, but not near as loud as the BUFFs.

I love the sound of those twin EDFs! Wouldn't it be cool to put a digital audio chip on a spare receiver channel, and a loud speaker inside to play that growly 30mm gun sound? Set up a low pass and let that zipper roar!

Default A-10

Or, you could just make the sound with your mouth and save the money and weight.

Hi FireFox. WELCOME to WattFlyer!! It's always great to see new faces.

I have only painted one GWS bird, a C-47. I used a small spray can of Tamiya hobby paint. I did one rough and one smooth sanding before the paint and it turned out ok. just remember to keep the can about 6 or 7 inches back and keep the spray can moving.

Maybe some of the gurus will jump in and give some better advise.
Cheers.

I've heard that Testors enamel will work OK.
If that's the case, I'm sure they have a color for me.

You are right on....tamiya paints work excellent
Brush on or spray
just make sure to get the spray for plastics (ts designated) and not for RC car bodies (PS designated)
Actually some of the finest paints made IMO
here is a good example
This is a Phase 3 p-38 i repainted from the od green to flat aluminum
Turned out outstanding
