Heck ya, barely have to toss it now, allmost flies out of my hand.

IIRC with the wicked extreme and 4s Loong max, amp draw was around 38 amps.

What was your watt pull? I'm trying to compare this with what I got before placing another order with Hobbycity. This is what I'm currently using. http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6265

Don,

Do you have any numbers/graphs of the Wicked 4800Kv's with 5-blade Alfa rotors and Loong Max 4S (and 3S if handy) packs?

Yes I do.

First graph is 5 blade alfa, wicked 4800 with LM 4S2250.
Second is 5 blade, wicked extreme 5400 on 3S2200 lipo.
Third is 5 blade with Wicked 4800 on 4S2200 TP Extreme V2

Thanks a bunch, Don. How come no amp readings on those? I was actually asking because I wanted to double check and make sure on what ESC I wanted to get.

Here it is with amps, I took watts off so you can see the amps scale more clearly.

Thanks, Don. I was thinking of using a 50A ESC, but I think using a 60A may be a wiser idea, even though it means adding another .5oz of weight.

Well Don your Extreme 4800 is in my EDF64 Yak23 and it flys fine now. Wish I had batt room for 4s. I think I still may need to enlarge the cheater a bit more, as there is probably more power in the motor.

The sound of your motors adds a bit to the jet sound, compared with the inrunners. Seems like a real solid motor.

Scratch built city. Actually the wing is a trimmed Parkzone Cub wing.
I even tried another full airfoil wing on it later, but it didn't do as well, since the plane is heavy and really likes the lift of the undercamber. I did pad the underneath with a layer of sheet balsa in the front portion, to remove some of the undercamber to reduce drag.

The chrome really stands out on sunny days too.

RBC sells a larger kit version of the Yak23 for a 70mm. I'd really like to have one.

Bill.

Have you run any tests using any of the Wemo fans?

Speaking of Wemo, I put your 30A Pentiums in a ME262 Scratchbuild with Hyperion 6000kv motors/Microfan. They probably won't stay there permanently, but was a fun experiment and flew well. Already flown before with EDF55s.

I would bet your Extreme 4800 would be good in a Minifan.

Don, have you gotten in those spacers for the EDO fans and adapters yet? My replacement F-18 is coming in from Hobby Lobby, and I want to go ahead and stick a Cool Wind motor in this one right off the bat to run off 4S, and hopefully have it ready in time for SEFF. I've got a 40A Suppo ESC and an external BEC sitting here that I can use, so I'm hoping that will be enough if I stick the ESC in the thrust tube instead of the underside and get some airflow going over it.

Let me know and I'll shoot you an order in the morning.

I just got a bag of 500 of those spacers You just drop it into the rotor then when you press the rotor onto the alfa plug it will stop it from pushing on too far.

Got my order in. =) I hadn't realized what a good deal I got on those first two Cool Wind motors I got from you back when they first came out! Not that they're that they're that much more now that you've got them listed on the site, but I hadn't realized you ate the shipping costs on my order before. So thanks for that, in hindsight. Was very nice of you and I appreciate it even if I didn't know it at the time.

Alright, I'm ready for some zoom-zoom!

I just finished my new Electrifly L-39 model.

Setup:
Wicked EDF Extreme
3S 2200 TP Extremem V2
Pentium 40 ESC
Esky 8 gram servos.

AUW is 21 ounces.

I added an outlet nozzle to try and boost the speeds a little. Hope to maiden this weekend if the rain holds off

Hey, Don...I have that A-10, along with another one of those fan/motor combos, finally packed up for you. Should be out in the morning. Have fun.
