Default Introducing the ALL NEW UMX Beast "Sport Version"

After losing a dogfight with a UM P-51 , I decided not to replace the wing set on my Beast as it literally takes less time to build a scratch plane then to work on all those 0.005mm CF rods needed for the wing support.

So instead i just removed all the upper wing assembly, covered all the big holes with electrical tape, reinforced the bottom wing with two CF rods and lots of joint tape.

With everything i added, i came out with the exact same weight as with both sets of wings. I realize that though its the same weight, i have less wing surface for lift so it will be interesting to see if it will fly???

Anyone want to Vote... "Fly" or "No Fly”?

BTW... the UM P-51 didn't have a scratch on it and was back up in the air within minutes!

Default Well I've done it again!

It's a bird... it's a plane... no, it's the "Beast Mustang"!!!

Got tired of crashing the short wing'd sport version of the beast so I tore them off and made new ones with quite a bit of dihedral... looks a bit like the P-51 Mustang... well ok, not really

Anyway, will maiden this saturday... hopefully the wife comes because she's the only one good enough with a camera!

Aloha John,

Nice work there, you got some repair skills! (your video makes me home sick, the field looks good!)

I'm looking at scheduling my Summer trip, I'll keep you posted. Hopefully we can get some 'stick time' in again.

Default UMX Beast "Mustang Version"

OK, here’s the video...

The bad landing was only partially my fault as i forgot to remove the landing gear before launch. Gear + Grass = Opps

Check out the Birds too !!!

Oh my, what if he trims the wings down, to make it look even more like a BeeGee? I don't think it would fly after that?
