When you go and look at the battery they use it is a 3 cell not 2. So that said if you can find a 3 cell lipo to fit the plane pocket at say 500mah @ same c rating. You then could give it a try. With no spec on motor it is a guessing game if motor will last on 3 cell. The one review had motor burn up already after 1 flight. Perhaps that is why they gave you 2 cell. Maybe better to get second 2 cell battery.

Its rare for an EDF to survive more than the recommended number of cells. They get pushed right to the limit to get the most thrust possible.

Even if the motor and ESC can survive, the fan is likely to shed blades. Just having an imbalance or pressure deforming the EDF unit causing the fan to touch the EDF "shroud" tends to make them blow apart.

The most likely part to survive is the ESC. Due to the tendency of an EDF model to be flown at high throttle the whole flight its suicidal to put in a marginal ESC.

I don't know why but J Powers seems to quote a low C rate for packs in these Nano's and also the 50mm series.

The simplest and best way to get more power / speed is to put a higher C rated pack in and let the motor get what it demands. No need to increase from 2 cell to 3cell in fact.

Good example is my 50mm where the 800 15C 3S pack is OK to fly but nothing to get excited about ... but up to a 1300 35C pack and she comes alive with far better acceleration and rpm on the fan ... the amps delivery is significantly higher as the pack can deliver.

You occasionally have to be careful with the C rating too...

Dynam Me-262 good for over a year running 20C 4S 4000 mah to 5000 mah packs.
Stuck in a 40C 4S 4400mah and blew both ESCs, wiped out one fan and motor.

Yep ... can happen.

I played safe after a while and fitted a 50A ESC to my 50mm as I wanted to up to 4S ... but that's another story.

The trick is of course to use the good old Wattmeter and make sure ESC etc. can handle the extra oomph.

But I don't think this get can fit a 1300mah 2S or 3S.

I was only giving an example ...

Are you using the recc'd LiPo C rating and size ? If so - why not try a higher C rating ? Even if you stay same capacity.

I'm was using there Hobby King 460mah 2S 30-40C. But now I can't find them so now I gotta find a new brand. I hear nano tech batts go dead if you let then sit to long. Even if you charge them and store them away. What would you recommend for a batt?

I used the Zippy Compacts as Nanotechs never lasted well with me. First flights great ... then a steady decline ..
I now use the Rhino packs from HK ... slightly heavier than the Zippy's but so far I am liking their performance. The shape is good for most of my models, but when I need short more squat packs - then its the Flightmax Blue of HK.

I only have expensive alternative packs where I live - so I accept a possible shorter life of HK packs. But the cost saving far outweighs the difference in life. Many of the locally available packs are re-badged rubbish anyway.

I have a bunch of the Jpowers 50mm jets and fly them all on 4S. T-45,T-33, F18, F16, Bh Viper, mig 15, AMX.

The motors and fans can handle 4s but I have upgraded the escs to 40 amp. On a few I have a Dr Mad thrust or Xrp high blade count combo.

I have a hunch Jpowers has gone under or are just making planes for HK and BH. HK has a few but not a wide selection. Hard to find other sellers. Sad cause they're cheap fun.
