Default Intelligent Flight Drift Free Head Tracker

Intelligent Flight will soon be introducing their new Drift Free Head Tracker, at the moment it will be getting ready for beta testing. This will be the only head tracker that will not only perform camera pan, tilt but also roll!!!

See the video to get a better understanding of this.

Ya no prob!

Here is some more news. All the other gyro based HT are temperature sensitive for example they do not like the fast transition of warm to cold. Mark at I.F stuck his in the freezer and so far.. no drift! He even hit it with a heat gun after and still no problem. Although it stopped working at 140'C LOL AND it took 25 mins to cool off after. I think they did a great job with this unit. This part is still undecided but I suggested a few pins be added where you can attach a I.F. USB connector there for any free software upgrades providing you supply your own PicKit2 programmer. I know ImmersionRC charges $20.00USD for EACH upgrades. This would be a good selling feature as well along with a stable IF HT design.

Also I conducted a test myself with a Areopix/ImmersionRC TrackR1 with latest upgrade and the HT would drift after holding still for more than several seconds. Where as the I.F. HT, it was put on a 3 hour test and it never drifted!

I'm actually looking at replacing my Magtrack v2 to be compliant with AMA rules (buddy box ability needed for spotter).

Do you know if this one will have a buddy box feature?

ETA?

Yes Chris, it will have a buddy box input and maybe a input for you guys (with a USB pickit2) to upload any "free" software upgrades. ETA... well I'm not 100% on that yet since Mark just got the results of their IMU tested in an airplane and Daniel needs to tweak it up a bit more. Although he was very happy with the results. Once I get the final info on the HT, I will inform this forum and RCG as well.
