Hi,
Ok, after a lot of hard thought I think I'd be best to buy a Typhoon 2 as my first plane for fun & durability reasons...
I already bought a Futaba 6EX which I have...
I have a Futaba R617FS 7-channel receiver on order and in the mail somewhere...
but not knowing how big the R617FS is in terms of your standard receiver, nor having bought the Typhoon yet, I'm not sure if the R617FS will fit well in the Typhoon (size wise or for reception)...
does anyone know?
Should I have any concerns with going ahead and ordering the Typhoon 2 PNP for use with the R617FS receiver?

I'm unsure if it will fit inside the plane with the case on the RX but that could be removed if needed. The Typhoon 2 is a 3D plane and a very poor choice to learn on as a first plane. It requires constant pilot input to keep flying and wont fly on its own. The large control surfaces means it can change direction in a split second giving you little time to react. Its more suited to a 3rd or 4th plane down the road but its your money so best of luck.

I bet it will fit after looking it over again. Many remove the larger than needed RX cases to fit better and save weight without harm. Most times the RX is just coved with packing tape to protect it. I have 6 planes with caseless RX's and nothing covering them at all, Never had any kind of problems.

yes the receiver will fit but i can't get the esc to arm with the futaba 6ex and that receiver...anybody know a solution..i've reversed it....put trim all the way to 0 or each way full also...it enters the programming mode at one point.

Make sure the EPA (end point adj) for ch 3 (throttle) is set to 120% for both ends of the throttle and of course the throttle channel must be set to REV in the servo reverse screen when using an ESC.
Good luck,
Pete
