Default Goblin 630 Competition

I recently picked up a 630 Comp Goblin second hand having only been flown twice. The Goblins are fantastic helis, quite trend setting in their design and would normally be too expensive for my taste but I got this one at a good price.

So the Spec is:
  • Goblin 630 Comp
  • Scorpion HKIII-4035 560Kv
  • Castle Edge 120HV
  • 2 x Nanotech 6s 3850mAh 65c (12s)
  • Gryphon HV BEC
  • Align DS615 / 655 servos (soon to be changed for HV brushless servos)
  • Spektrum AR7200BX FBL controller (already swapped for a Kbar)
  • SAB blades
It came 'BNF' just needing batteries to fly, but for my piece of mind I stripped all the vital parts down and rebuilt, re-soldered connections etc. I also swaped the Spektrum AR7200BX for a Kbar I had spare purely because I'm more familiar with setting up the Kbar and I like the way they fly.

Rebuilding and setting up always takes a while with these big helis but after burning some midnight oil I had it ready for flying on Sunday. The weather wasnt great, it was light intermittant rain all day but I still managed to give it a couple of flights, both of which went perfectly. I cant wait for better weather to give it some more air time.

SAB.....now that's a step-up to the best in class.

I've never flown or owned one, but the guys I know who own them (SAB), (and those who envy) have very few (if any) negative issues.

Post some pic's............of that "Ferrari" beauty...

Thanks, yes it's a very nice heli that's for sure. I keep pinching myself as i can hardly believe the price i got it for.

Here's a video of the second flight. it's slightly cut down because I was chatting away to my flying buddy far part of the flight and I'm sure no one wants to hear me droning on!:

I got some 660mm blades for the Goblin which makes it perform better at low headspeed.

Here's a flight video shot yesterday with the new blades:
