Default require 20+kg thrust, options?? (going on dragons den!!!)

Hi there,
New to the forum but in need of info very fast. I have been approved to pitch my product on the show dragons den, which is amazing.

This product I have designed now needs a prototype, and requires a EDF. Specifications needed;
- Max diameter of 210 mm
- Max overall length of 12"
- minimum thrust required 20 kg
- minimum operating time required 30 min
- EDF must weigh less then 15 LB
- Battery must weight less then 25LB

I have seen the DS215 195mm from schubeler, and have been in contact with the designer but my application does not require it to be carbon fibre.

Can someone please explain to me to run an edf with this much thrust what batteries are required, and how many of them ? whats the length of time that it will be able to run for and how can I quickly calculate this? and what other manufacturers make an edf besides the 195mm that will produce 20kg of thrust.

Thanks

I am going to move this to the EDF forum for more exposure to the guys who focus on this.

At that size an EDF and batteries are likely to be virtually as expensive as a gas turbine which can readily produce that sort of thrust for much less weight. A Jetcat P220 for example.

I been working on a new design EDF, for 30, 40 and 50 lb's static thrust. I'm in the early stages. The rotor is made using 15, Dynamax blades. The motor design is almost finished. It's 6 phases, and has opto switching, rather than back EMF. It also needs 24 LiPo's in series for power. I'm also working on the speed controller design. It will be completely different than anything out there now. I have had everything on hold for 4 years, for several reasons. One of them was Cancer, for my wife and myself. Cancer was caused by the Power plant 2 miles away burning coal with Polonium.

Getting 30 minutes is only possible if you have enough for the total battery count. Gas Turbine actually does make more sense.

Don't waste your time on OP, hasn't been only since he posted, more than half a year ago, no feedback from him. Just another Area51, electric turbocharger, design-me-this, project.

I find myself doing that more and more.
In this case juist the quick eCalc link from me to test the water, nothing more. And lo and behold, silent water.
