OK ... some already know I have received a RK TX18S TX ... and so far I can say has met all expectations. Like everything there are always odd niggles ...
I would like a stiffer throttle movement BUT it is smooth as silk.
The buttons / pots / switches in the websites have contrast labelling against the black case - but the actual set you get has no contrast in the labelling - so very difficult to read ... I know - when flying you don't have time to read labels ... but it would be nice when programming ...
Overall ?
16 ch's
6 3 pos switches
2 2 pos switches and momentary
2 side sliders
2 centre pots
6 flight mode buttons
Touch screen (needs still to be written FW to use).
Full colour daylight screen
USB C charging / data transfer
SD card model memory / setups etc. - giving literally unlimited memory slots
Receiver number system giving locked model memory to specific Rx
Hall gimbals
5in1 internal module that covers literally all except Crossfire and DJI. It even covers FrSky V !
External module for a second Multi Module such as Crossfire etc.
My only negative is that I don't use openTX - so its a real learning curve for me from er9x ... and I cannot transfer direct my extensive hangar of models by cable. MikeB has already started to port erskyTX for it and I have tested first version .. MikeB has tweaked a few bits I noted ... so soon it should have a full working erskyTX for those like me who prefer er9x format.
BUT for under 100 Euros ............ its an absolute beaut of a radio .....

I never used Open TX on my FrSky sets. I just didn't like it. When I saw Radioking used Open TX that put me right off it. I rarely use my X9D or the QX7 FrSky now. I love the Spektrum DX6 I have and have put all my models onto it. I will stick with Spektrum. Cost is something else.....

I am also not a great fan of openTX .... but it has evolved so much over the last couple of years. I have been a staunch er9x / erskyTX user on 9x and 9xr ...
You cannot compare todays openTX with the old open9x early versions.
As to Spektrum ... I really do wonder how much longer Spek can hang on ... JR went ... Futaba are hanging on by finger nails ...
You only have to look at online and you rarely see mention of the higher priced Brands now. Reviewers are all over these Multi Protocol Module Radios ... IMHO - its the way its going.
