I am wanting to build some indoor flyers. I am also gonna convert some nitros over.

What are some of your favorite brands?

Are Banggood motors any good?

Where do you all get your stuff?

Since HURC closed I'm buying more from Grayson Hobbies. But I'm reading that they aren't communicating as well as they have in the past. https://graysonhobby.com/

In order of preference (in descending order)

First : Banggood ..... the Multi-Rotor / Quad motors are well worth the look ... and you can get tiny through to large with designed rotation as well ...
Second : Hobby King - but to be honest - they are fast becoming a shadow of their former ... with reduced range of motors and most are re-branded anyway.
Third : RCTimer .... but here's a strange thing - they produced many of the motors sold by others - but their website has changed from .com to .net and not so easy to navigate...
Fourth : AliExpress ... but they only sell on as middle men - so its worth identifying motor and then checking other sites as often you will find cheaper.

I do not buy motors from eBay unless last resort. Near all are resells of above companys products and often shipping dictated by eBay Global Program makes it totally uneconomic.

I have looked at alot of motors here. Didn't know the quality of them. I am looking at the Sunnysky, Racerstar, XXD, and a bunch of different coreless ones. Didn't know how well they would hold up

I like Racerstar ..... so far as good as any others I've used ...

I also like their ESC's !!

What coreless motors, and how/where do you want to use them?
Coreless/ironless motor have (very) high Kv and low torque, they usually need a gearbox to get sensible/useful rpm and torque.

Generally that means low RPM but good thrust to give that classic style. No high RPM screamers !

Give an idea of size / weight etc. ??

A goiod place to go is eCalc ... register for small fee and have all the data you ever need to sort Battery / ESC / Motor ....

I have had great success with Suppo and Leopard motors I buy from Altitude Hobbies.

Core-/iron-/slot-/stator-less motors are not the goto for those planes. In fact, you don't see many of that type of motors in RC, it's a specialty niche motor type, very high Kv and rpm, low torque, high(er) efficiency.
Are we talking about same motor technology here, can you post some links?

The only motors that come to mind is the Kontronik Kira series, and before that their Tango and Fun series. Not sure whether Plettenberg has them in their program, the HP220???

The product has been flawless, the customer service perfect, and the supporting documentation and resources they have on their website is surpassed by none. I am a new returner to RC after a 40 yr hiatus, and the complexities of the electric RC airplane system have been a challenge to grasp. Their prop charts for each and every motor they sell has been an invaluable tool in helping me select the right motor/ESC/prop combo from my project du-jour.

One of the best ways to get a good combo of Prop - ESC - Motor and model is using "eCalc" .... for 'pennies' a good comprehensive easy to use online calculator / comparator.
