Well then, the first thing that needs to show up is some planes to start 3D printing...

Lets get things started with some simple 3D printed wheels intended for lightweight electric airplanes. I live an hours drive from the nearest hobby shop. So I design a lot of the parts I need and put them on thingiverse. Everything on Thingiverse is free for you to use.

This is a 70mm shock absorbing wheel similar to the GWS Slowstick wheels. For some reason they dont display right but they do print right.
If you like them and want to print this wheel the files can be downloaded at:

One aspect that could really help - is where some of us are not so good at designing / creating. If those who are adept at it - could help create objects ?
I have a particular interest for this one ... creation of the canopy / cowls / bombaimers / gun turrets etc. for my Lancaster. I followed all sorts of tutorials / youtube vids - but still no joy !!!
Its also interesting if someone identifies an object that can replace broken part of a different model ....
I found a cowl that is close copy of the WOT4 cowl ... trouble is I didn't note which files !! When I find it - I will list.
Just for the record ... Thingiverse does actually also list items that are not free - luckily not so many !! Those I just skip past !

I used to have a lot of trouble with clogging nozzles. It turned out to be one of two reasons. The first was too low of temperature. I now print my PLA parts at 237 C. This helped a lot. No more clogged nozzles. And a lot better layer adhesion. Very important for 3Dlab prints. Second was related to when the fan turns on for the print. If the fan turns on to late the filament gets to soft and does not push through the nozzle correctly. It builds up and clogs. You have to warm up the hot end to pull it out. Cut off the thick end and restart.

Very cool...would like to hear how things go for you. I plan on getting a 3D printer for Christmas as I've been drooling for 3 planes they have. Buddy prints quad frames that work nicely...just purchases aluminum spacers to put upper/lower sections together.

Ran into a problem .... rear fuselage section is too high for my printer. Will be seeing if I can 'cut' of a section to separately print.
Will be contacting 3Dlabprint about it as well.
