Bob, I used a Hacker 30-28S with a 40 amp esc and a 10x6 prop. Any 480 size motor should work fine. Also a 2200 battery. I usually fly about 5 + minute flights. In fact that's what killed mine. Got talking while flying and went 8 + minutes and lost it ! A senior moment.

Bob275,
I've built two AeroWorks StingRays. The first one I lost due to a thermo overloaded ESC. Having figured out what the problem was, I then set about to cure the Problem.
On the second StingRay, I added twin Air Scoops to the top of the fuselage in the motor Area to promote better cooling of the motor, battery and ESC. I think that it even looks more like a StingRay with the twin Air Scoops.
Bob, The Stingray is one of the best, if not the best flying pattern planes of it's size.
I had a Hyperion G2220-10 Glider Motor on mine, A Scorpion Commander 45A ESC, Futaba S-3154 digital servo's, 3s 16c 2100mAh Lipo, and a APC 9x7.5e prop.
I was getting around four hundred Watts at 40A and let me tell you it was one sweet flying plane.
Now It's a Hanger Queen and I'm flying larger pattern planes now, But the AeroWorks StingRay is still one of the best pattern planes of it's size that I've ever flown.
