Default Multiplex Twin Star II wing retainer straps fix?

Hi, I was wondering does anyone know of a mod/upgrade to the Multiplex Twin Star II "wing retainer strap"? My TS2 recently has experienced 2 earth impacts and both my wing retainer straps have broken. Does anyone know of a quick fix or some modification that would work for these wing retainer straps?
I have ordered from a internet hobby outfit a set of these wing retainer straps, but they are not due until sometime late next week. Until then, it really sucks that not having these wing retainer straps keeps me grounded.
I sure would appreciate any information of some quick fix/modification for these retainer straps.

Thank you and take care.

cut a piece of 1/16" plywood and drill a few holes in it, if you feel you need the nubs, cut some plastic tubing and epoxy or CA it onto the plywood.
