So it seems i may need a Radian intervention.
I have a UMX Radian ( my 2nd one ) and an old and recently refitted Radian Pro and a new Night Radian which i got for Fathers Day.
I've been watching old videos of gliders and came upon a discontinued 3-meter ( 118" wing-span ) one by GREAT PLANES. I really liked the unusual wing plan and wondered how it might work with one of my Radian's.
So i decided to try it first on my UMX Radian.
The UMX radian is a scaled down version of the Two Meter Radian with a 29" wingspan. So in scale to the UMX Radian a meter is half the wing-span so 14.5".
Therefore three meters is 3 x 14.5" which equals 43.5".
I scaled the "Bird of Time" plan in my CAD program and plotted a half span wing about 22" long, added a 24" #3 CR bent the wing ends up per the BOT plans and stuck it on my UMX Radian.
Waited for the Windiana winds to die down and got a few trial flights at twilight.
It balances and flies really well and of course with a greater glide. I'll do a video when I can get to the field.

Was this wing a foam wing or a balsa build with covering. It looks like the leading edge was covered with reinforcing tape for strength. What an interesting combination for the radian. Thanks for posting.jb
