Dammit all! This morning I needed some more down trim on my Flyxone micro Fokker triplane and I tried squeezing the external pushrod "V" with my fingers. I apparently pulled it out of the brick. Dumbashe.

Anyone who has had one of these apart - what is the best approach to get into it? I am thinking take mid and top wing off and open upper decking about where the upper wing is.

If you split it down the fuselage joint line and take off the whole lower fuselage half is that better ton cutting an access hatch?

Plane has 250 flights, my easiest to fly love it and no longer sold!

Is this one of the micros? By what company?

Many micros you open up by cutting the taps/decal holding it together. Use common "scotch" tape to close it back up. The scotch tape will peel off the tape/decal if you have to open it again. Peeling the original tape/decal will pull the paint off the foam.

Many others are glued and difficult to open at best.

A trick when cutting into foam to get at things or create a hatch etc.

Do not cut straight vertical .... angle the knife so you cut at a slant creating a wider part at top than inner. Then when you put the part back - it doesn't fall in or sit further in ... it seats itself in place.

Second - try to cut where there are panel lines - these disguise the cut ...

With foamies - where to cut is not a problem ... it is easily glued back in again ...

Thanks- glaring omission on my part and I have gone back and edited my post. It is the Flyzone micro. I called their shop that takes care of warranty issues and their advice was to detach the lower wing - strut joint and slice the fuselage lower half off by following the seam line between upper and lower halves.

I called Tower hobbies and they gave me the customer service/warranty - very helpful. The guy told me to disconnect the struts from the lower wing and cut the fuselage down the side seam. I chose to make a cut athwartships 1/2" ahead of the tail skid as I have done a rudder repair I do not wish to further revise. The plane came apart very well and I had plenty of access to replug the elevator pushrod. I glued the fuselage and struts back with a thin application of Ace 5 min epoxy. Easy!
