Default Suggestions for electric power system for SIG Astro Hog

I'm building a SIG Astro-Hog. The plane is a sport type plane with a 71" wingspan and should weigh 7-8lbs. It's a "60 sized" plane.
I'm looking for suggestions for an electric power system (Motor/ESC/Prop). I don't need to over power the plane, I won't be doing 3-D flying with it.
I'm in favor of a Turnigy motor, due to the low cost, but I'm open to other suggestions.
Thanks in advance for the help.

60 size ?? Then its about a 50 size motor and 5S or 6S LiPo ...

I powered my Zlin Z50 70 class which is designed for about a 50 - 60 size 2str Glow .. with a 5050 450kv Turnigy motor ... 6S 3000mAh LiPo and an 80A ESC just to be sure ... it gave me literally unlimited vertical on a 15x10 prop ... My Zlin weighed in at 3kg ...
The Hog is a heavier model so the power would be valuable.

Cheap and cheerful setup.

To check out combos ... I recc'd eCalc ... couple $ to register ... and a wealth of help in this sort of situation. Lets you play with battery / motor / ESC etc. to get a good combo. I also find it gives 'safe side' numbers ...

Thanks for the suggestion Nigel.
I've looked at the 5050 450kv Turnigy motor and it seems to be a good choice. I'll probably go with that. It should work well on the AstroHog if it provides unlimited vertical on your 3kg plane.

I have two Zlins ... one with 15cc Gasoline and other with the 5050 ... sadly the 5050 model due to MY dumb thumbs got smashed ... no fault of power setup in any way.

Both were more than enough for the model and I would think - the Hog being an older style construction - the 5050 would be ideal.

It works well on 5S or 6S ... depends on prop and what you want ...
