Default Storing Planes

Ok, so we all this 'game' can become an addiction!

I have only been flying about a year and have somehow ended up owning 6 planes already.... plus 2 micro's.

My workshop is getting full and I am wondering.....
How do you all store your planes?
Hang them, put them on a shelf, or... ?

I hang mine on PVC pipe racks on a stall wall out in the barn. The racks were cheap to build but the planes get dusty quick!

I really need to get my workshop organised.

Climbing over RC planes to get to my Harley or HotRod is getting dicey!!!

I used to store mine on pvc connected to some peg board on the wall in the garage, then I ran out of room or I got larger models that the peg board would not support. Now they are hanging from the ceiling.

The last pic shows how they used to be stored. Those planes are now hanging with the rest.

I made a PVC rack for storing the wings, then hang the fuselages along the ceiling, from nylon straps screwed to the joists.

Get your house extension built, then you'll have room in the house for all your planes like me

PVC racks. Glue the verticals & slip fit the horizontals. Then you can switch them around to maximize the packing factor as the fleet grows.

No pictures, but I just take the wings off and store them between the joists in the basement on 1x2 screwed across the bottoms of the joists.

Liquidity, do I see a couple of gassers in that fleet? For shame...

I too have been in the game for around a year and also own 6 models plus I store my friends Super Cub as well.

I only have a shed for storage so room is very tight.

I hang 2 war birds from the roof using some old strapping I used to use to strap my motocross bike to its trailer.

I am planning on putting up a shelf on the back wall to put the 2 Super Cub fuses on. The Cubs wings are in the box they came in underneath the table to the left of the picture (the table the GWS 109s wing is being painted on).

The Blade Dancer (right of pic) is hanging on the wall with some fishing line looped around its landing gear and nailed to the wall.

When the 109 is done I can clear the desk, then my Mini Funtana (being built atm) will be on the desk on a stand.

That just leaves the 109 when its finished which I will probably hang on the left wall somehow.

I only have one plane, and I store it in the garage in the special travel case I made for it.

Exciting, huh?

Don't. It's because I'm not rich, and never have been. Even if I should win the lottery or discover some long lost wealthy uncle has died and left me his millions, I've lived frugally for so long it's become a way of life for me.

Right now, one multi-use plane is enough, and even if I should get more, I doubt I'll ever have more than three or four max. I've been a cyclist for over thirty years and yet i still have never had more than two bikes, Both multi-use as well, of course.

I'm so damn practical it's no wonder women aren't interested in me.

I could lend you one... I find them so much harder to store than RC Planes

Hi folks, not been around for a while but summers nearly here woohoo.

Anyway thought I would post a pic of my hangar now I have the planes where I want them (apart from the 109 that hasn't been touched since I last posted).

I think it all looks quite neat.
