Hi Everyone I am Looking for some ideas for a new Contest to Start on Dec. 1, 2013, it will last for 90 days, and will have a budget of $75.00 - $100.00 here are a few of my Ideas, Please post any Ideas that you may Have for a Contest.

Contest Idea #1

To use any RC non sea plane, and convert it to a Sea Plane, you can scratch build your own plane with no budget restraints, the only Budget Restraints will be the Floats and Float Hardware. a pic of the plane before and after the conversion, a small build thread, and a video of the plane taking off and landing on water. cost restraints $75.00

Contest Idea #2

to Build your own Flight box out of wood, cost restraints will be $100.00 for hardware, wood, varnish, handles, hinges, screws, bolts, etc. are part of the build cost. you can build it something like the old Custom Wood Flight Box, or any way you want to make it. and a small build thread.

Contest Idea #3

To build your own Flying wing, out of foam, Balsa, plastic, Etc, only the basic wing building material will be itemised, cost limit $75.00, radio, receiver, battery and servos, motor, esc are not part of the build cost. a small build thread and a video of your wing flying.

Please, Give me Your Ideas for a Build Contest , Take care, Chellie

Wouldn't that be a PGLG? I like it.

Don't want to pour cold water (or ice, in my case) on the float plane idea but there are parts of the country where open water will be frozen soon.

As a woodworker, I'd be all over the flight box idea but I wonder how many have access to anything but basic woodworking tools.

A flying wing seems to be the one in reach of most builders. Plenty of plans about and even some cool scale projects. Would a Me-163 count as a flying wing?

I'm guessing a previously constructed wing would not qualify?

A vote for flying wing here too. It may even be enough to get my lazy butt back to the building board (maybe).

I like the wing idea but here's another idea that appeals to me.

Build a scale RC missile/drone.

I'm thinking here of the likes of the V1 'Doodlebug' or BQ-34 Firebee, or right up to date with the Predator. There are really tons of choices out there most never modelled before. Have a look at the drones linked on this page for starters: http://www.vectorsite.net/twdrn.html

And you dont have to make a canopy

The Firebee:

How about another Scratch Build contest, but with a twist. The model to be modeled has to be something that is seldom modeled. (say that 5 times fast! )

Something like this maybe:

or this:

Just some thoughts.

Fantasy or never/seldom built designs appeals to me too.

Drones would work too.

Great Suggestions Know what I think I will have Don Sims set up a poll, and everyone can vote on what the Next scratch build contest Design should be.
