Default Brushless Blade CX2

I finished this conversion last week. I love the it way it flies and awesome power. I loaded it up with some FPV gear. I got it buzzing around my garage. Really simple set up and flies a lot better then stock and all I can say is it's bada$$. Got a few flights in and I'm under the impression that this will be a good FPV heli for learning, indoor FPV flights, outdoor close range FPV flights and I think for me it will allow me to fly over my backyard RC track without having to have everyone clear the area like they do when my 450 or 600 spools up .

My Brushless CX is weighing in at 350 grams wet (RTF). Here's the Set-up

1 1.3ghz 300mw Hobbywireless FPV system
1 Custom Crash9 6160T6 .50 aluminum frame with landing skids/tail boom
2 Castle Creation Thunderbird 9
1 900 mah 3s lipo for heli power. 7-9 minute flights so far.
1 400 mah 3s lipo for seperate video power. May remove and run off Main batt to save weight.
2 C-10 Brushless outrunners from Strong RC. Thanks Don.
1 Blade CX complete frame, servos, innner/outer main shafts, etc..
1 Spektrum 6100 RX, TX programed for plane
1 E-flite heading hold gyro
1 Vasman extended inner shaft

I also removed the FPV gear and used a 3s 2100 lipo for a 20+ min flight. 298 grams RTF.

Thanks for the compliment. I am pretty happy with my choices in helis so far.

As for the 500 vs. the Protos. I have only flown the 500 twice since building the Protos. My Protos weighs in at 270g lighter than my 500. Because of this, it is much quicker and seems to have a lot more pop in the collective. I also have a nicer gyro on the Protos so that also helps. I am running a Spartan DS760 on the Protos and a Gy401 on the 500. If I don't start flying the 500 more it will likely go up for sale in the future to help fund a .90 sized nitro machine.

My favorite right now is my 8S powered 600. I am running a Scorpion HK-4025 890kv motor with a CC HV-85 on 8S 25C 3700mah Outrage packs. This thing peaks at 2900watts! It is pretty much unboggable at 2150rpm.

I just got some Radix blades for my 600 so I can see how they compare to the VBlades that I am currently using. I also got a set of the Youngblood Super Stubz padddles. Unfortunately, the weather has been bad out here in California for the last two weeks and I have not had a chance to test them out yet.

There's some really top hardware on here....

I'm going to bring you all back down to earth with the little heli that started it all off nearly 10 years ago...the Piccolo.

I still fly mine (now on 2S lipos instead of the 8-9 nimh AAA's). It has a lot of mods on it for exceptable forward flight performance, but I just enjoy stooging it around and can land it on a sofa arm quite easily.

Here's mine with the Hughes body conversion fitted...

Sounds very similar to my ePantera.

(roughly) 2900W/30V = 97 Amps how often do you hit that with your HV85? I've peaked mine at 107Amps, no smoke. However, I had a gear mesh issue and yesterdays flight peaked at about 67A. I run in the 35-45 amp range however I'm also running around 1800 RPM on the main.

Do you have any logs/vids? I'd love to see the info on an 8S 600E!

My Trex got a new Gyro this year. Ministeve gave me a sweet deal on a 401 he had, thanks again Steve!! It has been to windy too get a good tunning session in with the new gyro but better days are ahead. I painted up a new [align-clear] canopy for her too. It is black on the inside, I used some of the factory stickers and Orange covering. My camera batts are dead so I had to use my mini vodeo camera to get a picture. It's a 1 sec. video, the batteries are dead in the mini video camera too, AUGH!!!! I can't find even 1 charged AA battery in this house!!! You can just hit pause to view it as a photo.

I don't have any recent logs. I am not obsessed with data logging and tend to only run my Eagletree when testing a new setup or to diagnose a problem. I have hit 100A+ many time with my old 6S/Neu 1515/2.5D setup. I am running my 8S setup using the Castle 2.0 Firmware's RPM Governor. Normal is set at 1800, idle 1 is 2150, and idle 2 is 2250. I typically never use normal or idle 2. I don't have any videos since I am just your average sport/ wannabe 3D pilot. I do need to run the logger and see what the system is pulling during some tick/tocks. I have family obligations this weekend so I won't be doing any flying. I will take the laptop out to the field next weekend and try to remember to get data from a more aggressive flight.

Here are a couple of logs from last December when I ran the 8S setup for the first time. The spikes you see are punchouts and the long peak is a funnel. You can see that the system was drawing 80-90A for a good 10 seconds during the funnel and the three spikes are all over 105A.

upgraded my Swift 16 with a Scorpion 4025-1100 6S 'Rex motor and RT 560's. WOT no gov get 2370 on fresh pack ! Absolute insanity. Full metal head and Tail gearbox. Like yours it is capable of 2200 continuous.

I was running the Century 600+ and peaking at 123 amps. Motor eventually failed. Wonder why.

Now it is virtually unboggable when in gov mode.

I would agree, once you have it dialed in, why risk the hardware?

Looks nice! I'm impressed with your packs ability to hold the voltage. I had a thermal probe on my HV85 when I was hitting 90A-100A and it never went over (if I recall) 115F - I love that ESC

Thanks for sharing!

I took the 600 out again yesterday. This time I hooked up the Eagle Tree and flew a typical flight. I did not do any long hard punch outs to see what it would spike at but rather just flew around and had fun. I am also running different blades than I was in the other graphs. I have switched from 600mm VBlades to 600mm CY Radix with CY Super Stubz paddles. The new paddles really sped up my cyclic response and I highly recommend them. I got my blades and paddles direct from Curtis Youngblood. They are cosmetic blems and I was able to get the mains for $62 and the paddles for $23.

I let one of my flying buddies fly the 600 and he is hooked. I think he will be showing up to the field in the next couple of weeks with the same power system in his 600.

Ayway here are the graphs, enjoy. Scorpion HK-4025 890kv, Castle HV-85, Outrage 25C 8S 3700mah, Radix 600.

Did you use a V-bar or some other flybarless system for the headgear? That is the most incredibly detailed model I have ever set eyes on - is it operational yet?

Here's my AH-6 "Little Bird". This is a huge scale model of the original bird...
Check out the deminsions and pictures. 5 blade head, Scorpion motor....

Scale Master Giant Scale RC Helicopter AH-6 "Little Bird"
This custom built RC helicopter is 95% complete!
What this Helicopter is NOT:
- This Scale AH-6 is not a "Kit" you can buy in a store
- Not small
- Is not a 1/6 Ultimate Soldier AH-6 conversion
- Is not made and built with cheap materials.
This bird is the ONLY one ever built like this.

She is huge in size: (one of the pics below shows a 1/18th scale AH-6 next to this beast so you can see the difference)
Length - 56 inches
Width - 26 inches
Height - 21 inches
Specs:
- Heli body is made from new gen fiberglass, and composites made in Germany.

- All CNC medal scale 5 blade head, swashplate. and follower
- Corbon-fiber core mechanics from Align (T-rex 600), torque tube mod
- All digital Futaba servos (4 total)
- Scorpion 740KV brusless motor 8S-12S capable
- 80 Amp (HV) High Volt Castel Creation Speed Control
- T-rex 700 mod for CCPM for no swashplate guide
- 7 CH Sectrum 2.4gHz receiver
- Full complete NAV, beacon, and LL light set up from XLIGHTS
- Scale detail cockpit and crew
- 2 Rocket pods and cannons

Heres what I need to complete the build

- Four, 4S 4000mAh Lipo's 2 in series (8S), and then the two series packs ran in parallel (8000mAn)
- Main blades
- SK-360 mixing system (optional)
- All Gyros
- K10364A 6A External BEC RCE-B6X

Should be flight ready in about a month.

Here is a video showing the nav lights....

here is mine 2 copters.
e-sky lama v4 and e-sky belt cp v2.

the belt is less than 3 hours old, and i already managed to screw it up, because of embarrassing pilot error

the lama v4 is much more than 3 hours old, and is badly screwed up because of many instances of pilot bravery

so because that the pilot bravery quickly exceeded the helicopter capabilities (and pilot capabilites?) on the lama, i ordered the belt cp2.
when trying to fly the belt for the first time, about 1 hour and 30 minutes ago i quickly learned the hard way that things have changed since the last time i had a "proper" heli (hirobo shuttle sxx).
main problem was probably that i had mystical gyro settings on the radio, wich just wasnt there when i had the shuttle. old trusty shuttle: reciever on = gyro on.
