Default E-Flite Blade CX2, New Version same price as Original!

Just browsed E-Flite's site and came accross this.

http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...rodID=EFLH1250

Looks pretty cool. A much nicer radio setup, some other tweaks to the mechanics, and a new body all for the same price as the original CX.

Now though, if the price of the CX goes down once my LHS gets in the CX2, I will be even happier .

I decided to go with a CP as my first real Heli because the price was right, but I really want a CX to learn on as well. Now might be the time for me to buy.

(By the way, I did search first before posting this and didnt find any threads mentioning the CX2. I also have been to E-Flites site several times this week and I didnt see this before. If this is old news, I appologize for the re-post).

the CX2 looks great! I like the red and the 2.4ghz radio is a nice addition.

That is cool! I wonder if it will be compatible with the DX6 tx? Not that it would matter since you get that tx with it.

And it looks like a Fire Service Helo which I REALLY Like!

We were told they would be available to in time to ship for Christmas. So I thinks it's cool. Additionally the 2.4 gig radio in it. Wow. Now we can start to rest easier about frequency conflict.

There will be additions and upgrades following the release earlie next year. To include another body. Lets see the servo is another thing they have changed and they say they have fixed the tail drift problem. So the improvement should be well accepted. The new colors and the stuff coming will be way cool.

Any idea if they will have compatibility with the original CX? I'm thinking specifically about the new bodies working on the old model. The red and black is very cool looking.

Gonna guess here. Yes. I don't see them remaking this heli frame and all since they didn't do anything with it price wise. We will have to see. They state that most cx parts will interchange with it.

That's what I gathered from looking at it too, looked very similar. Thanks for the info.

It will all be in the binding process. That remains to be seen. The DX6 transmitter will make the heli a lot easier to fly. Computer vs Analog always a very nice change.

Yesterday it was $159, then this morning it had gone to $169, I emailed them and they said they were dropping it back to $159 so thats why it was different.

QUESTION for anyone: If I put a CX2 RX in a CX will this work? This way one transmitter will fly two Helis. One less transmitter to carry around.

The CX2 receiver is different that the CX receiver. It is the new DSM2 version. You would have to buy the new CX2 receiver:
http://www.myrcsupply.net/index.php?...oducts_id=4404

BUT, DON'T spend your money yet, you will need to check the connectors of the CX vs the CX2 to see if they are plug and play compatible.

Don't try this at home, your mileage may vary, LOL.

.
It should work. I plan on doing just that... ordered a CX-2 4-in-1 to try in a powered glider just to check what the airborn range really is, since the copter goes invisible at about 200 feet..
The lack on interference with the Spektrum radio is another plus.

The DX7 will fly the electronics on the CX2. Thought you would all like to know that. What that means you can use the receiver from the heli for full range flying. The DX6 will not. This information is from Horizon to us. oops guess that was already put in. Missed it.

Was that your first flight on the video?
Do you think that the training gear would be a good addition for a copter novice?

What is your general opinion of the cx2

Thanks

That's not the first flight on that one.
I started with the CP... that beat me up badly, got a CX.. with training gear... homemade.
The gear reduces the number of blade strikes.. it's a tippy bird.
It flies nicely. Anyone with some r/c airplane experience should have few difficulties flying the CX/CX-2.. I've had 7 non-heli guys fly my CX with little to no problems.
The dreaded "nose in hover" is quite easy... comes from lots of slope glider flying, where orientation awareness -must- be learned!
I've taken the balls off both the CX and CX-2 now..

Sparky

I see that you are flying outdoors.

Is the wind a big problem on the CX-2?

How long can you fly on the factory lipos?

Thanks
