Build Review Your Suggestions For The Next Build Contest

Hi Everyone People are asking for another build Contest, Sooooo here is a Thread to List Your Ideas For a New Build Contest. Take care, Chellie

here are my Ideas

1. 120 Days to Build and Maiden the Aircraft

2. $100.00 Build limit not to include Power System or Electronics

3. must be able to fly off of land and water, that will make for a Challange,

4. the build can be a scratch build or kit, any building material can be used, balsa, foam, plastic, wood etc.

I like it Chellie ! We're headed into Float-fly season . Point #3 will indeed be a challenge. Might have to build another Convair Sea Dart . The Polaris is another dual purpose machine that comes to mind. Some float planes will ROG.

Building a VH Neptune now but would need to come up with a major MacGyver mod to Rog. Could add retracts that I have laying around. Mmmm.

Here are my Ideas
  1. 120 Days to Build and Maiden the Aircraft
  2. $100.00 Build limit not to include Power System or Electronics
  3. Must be a stick build, able to fly off of land or water.
  4. The build can be a scratch build or kit and can be made from any kind of materials so long as the majority of the structure is made of some form of sticks.

I'd rather see it fly off land or fly through water...more challenging

Voting on the Build sounds great, People list a bunch of planes here to choose from, this is your contest

good idea But i think its a good idea to give more Options on the building material used, some people might not feel comfortable working with Cardboard.

One of the things I like about a contest is that it makes me get out of my comfort zone.

Although, the results of a cardboard seaplane may be a little.....messy.

Card board is a Cheap building material, But, its heavy too, Thats why I dont build with it, with E Power you need to keep things light, with nitro, its not to much of a problem, because you get goops of power from nitro, thats just My 2 cents worth on card board

The cargo twin might be a good one. Land or sea. Free plans available. Can even drop little paratroopers or just any twin. Many have a pair of motors laying around.

Could go edf or prop.

I'm a believer that Kits and similar can give an unfair advantage and I would propose NO KITS. The last contest - I really liked because it brought out the SCRATCHBUILD aspect ... starting from literally zero.

To me half the work is arriving at the design and plan ... a Kit - that's done and you drop into putting together someone else's design work.

Just my 2p's worth ...

Me thinks working from existing plans should be acceptable. Just pick a theme to abide by such as twin, bipe, f3a, warbird, etc. I agree that kits or arfs would not be acceptable. As in: just add motor/esc/servos. True scratch, from an idea to paper to cutting foam or balsa, to assy, to air might narrow the playing field too much.

Added my 2 cents / 1 pence.
