Got in 3 flights this morning in 3mph. winds.
First 2 flights ended in issues. Wing came off the Ultimate Bipe and ended in
a tree and the plane went down hard.
Next one she was very unstable and caused a bad landing and the motor got
knocked out.
Third one no issues at all it flew like it was supposed to, i had complete control
and made a good landing and no damage.
I think the first two had some hot glue issues from the cold weather.
Got repairing to do now.

Bummer. I've given up on hot glue completely. It just doesn't hold up to the temperatures I get around here.

Hot glue has been a pain in cold weather for me too. Gone back to foam safe CA and kicker.

Thanks for the condolances, but if i didn't crash some now and then i couldn't do what i like best.Build em. I don't do it deliberatly though. I have a small area here to fly in so i am prone to some trouble now and then. Right now as a result of very cold weather my flying skills are dull and being as aged as i am has a little to do with it also.Ha
I am working on a new Se5a with 30inch wingspan so we will see how that goes when it's done.

Not too bad this morning so got in one flight with the Infineon Bipe.
Temp 19deg.F
Wind 3to4mph.
Snow on the ground, but i used the plow to scrape the field.
The ground was a little rough for the takeoff of the Sea Otter and i never got it up. I was hoping to solve the issues i have with it.
Maybe next time.
Cheers

Well all my plans have been 'washed away' ......... yes really !!

I was preparing skis and gear for my Badius and to go Polaris flying etc. I love flying of the snow and doing the sliding touch & go's ....

But overnight temp went up - it rained and our snow 'washed away' ...

Here is yesterday :

Same place today ..

You can imagine the mess !!

Wing was awful as well - so no flying at all.

Not much flying here lately due to weather, but I have been getting a lot of building for next year. Doubt I will finish big Giant Corsair for this year but it sure is filling these dreary winter days with something to do.

But the wing is crooked, bent, out of whack. How will it fly?

That green map file case in the background looks like something liberated from, well, somewhere.

That was hand built by a friend of mine years ago. All stock 1x6 lumber. Makes a great balsa storage cabinet. He gave it to me a couple years ago as in his words, his building days are over...

Each drawer holds a different size balsa and the bottom two are one for pushrods and hardware, and the other for covering.

Wow, that was not an easy case to build. The color is similar to the colors used by your current employer, so I thought it might be a surplus map case.

Well weather is total crap ! Ground is waterlogged again.

And I fell of a ladder seriously bending my right hand back against the wrist joint ... luckily nothing broken - but boy does it hurt !

Hospital put it into one of those Athletes support thingies .... have that for 3 weeks.

I did manage to fly the DJI today ---- doesn't exactly take much skill !

See the Garage thread ...
