Default FRC Profile F16 vers 1

Decided to 'knock-up' a profile F16 ..... Depron of course ...

Just need to sort out the radio gear now .... of course its using the typical Turnigy 2826 2200kv and 6x4 prop !! Expecting to throw a 1500 - 1800 3S in her ... maybe a 4S if I feel adventurous after its maiden.

F-16 flew quite wel after the radio issue was fixed. Those were some great landings in video two.

I'm considering rudder and ailerons ... the elevons make a very untidy roll as the tail is dragging down / up in it.

When high alpha - the vertical is difficult to hold without rudder ...

But overall - its a very good design and flyer ... all praise to FRC for the plan.

FRC has revised it and I see they added ailerons ... while RCP has given it a folded fuselage.

I chose the Vers 1 as it was a freebie and also very simple to make.

Just hope my Hunter flies as well !!

I made a bad mistake with the Soloshot auto camera's .... I placed them to windward of my standing position which makes them too close to flight box. I should have placed them behind me so they had more distance to track better.

The video above luckily was with my old Sunglasses DVR I decided to try again.

Took her for a flight yesterday .... all good and then motor decided to fail ... but she glided in to a spot landing next to the 'van' !!

Initially I thought it was ESC ... but today on checking - its the motor has shorted internally. All else is fine.

My spare 2826's are all similarly shot on windings ... so have ordered a slightly higher kv motor from Banggood ....

While waiting - I dragged out a spare motor ... remember the Rarebear Funfighter from Hobby King (actually it was a re-brand) .... it had a 2825 1940kv motor designed for 4S and 5.5x4.5 prop.

After removing the silly 1mm bullets and fitting decent 3mm ... I installed to the F16. Needed drilling clearance hole for the rear shaft ...

WOW - on 3S with 6x5 prop - F16 tried to rip out of hand ....

Gave her a reasonable run till my ears said enough ... motor was stone cold.

Reckon she could even run my 6x6 racing prop ! If I go 4S ... then its 6x4 ...
