Great Planes Sequence F3A Pattern Ship
Just released from Great Planes, the Sequence. Looks like a sweet little electric pattern plane. 50" wing span ! 3.75-4. lbs

Well I’ve been waiting about 2 months to build my Sequence while waiting for parts to arrive. All I have to say is what a disappointment.
This plane is built with some issues:
1. After shrinking the wings (due to excessive wrinkles) using my iron at the recommended temp that is in the manual (high heat) the wood grain came through the covering. Which tells me they poorly sand the wings..... if at all.
2. The canopy was damaged in the box due to a dovetail with no glue, which came apart.
3. My retailer was nice enough to give me another set of wings and a canopy and the replacement canopy doesn’t fit because the canopy was glued with a warp in the plexy that will not allow the canopy to go over the fuse. I tried to flex the plexy enough to clear the fuse but it cracked. So I'm on canopy#3. This canopy is way to tight a fit and needs to be reworked. Magnetic attaching cowel seems unstable and may move around.
4. Great Planes insists that you send everything back to them for warranty, which incurs a cost for me on top of all the expensive parts I had to purchase to build this plane. It's nice of companies to use consumers as their R&D department then add insult to injury by having the customer spend more money on the piece of junk.
Will I purchase a Great Planes product again, NO WAY. Not with that kind of irresponsible run around.

I'm glad others are enjoying this plane.
I am antisipating a great flying plane also , but companies have to stand behind their product.
I was very excited that someone would produce such a plane in this catagory, and will enjoy it more once it gets air bourne.

One of our local Masters Pattern flyers purchased one an he gave me a very favorable flight report. No coupling, no real mixing needed, very neutral in flight. Overall pleased with it's flight characteristics. Not bad for a small pattern flyer given that he has no problem spending thousands on 2meter ships and a lot of time trimming and tuning his planes. Looks like it gets a thumbs up in the flight category. The couple I've inspected at work appear to be well put together and didn't see any covering or canopy issues with them. Overall design appears to be right on. Now how 'bout a 70" version?
, so a foamy would be useful for practice.

Haven't seen a foamy version of the Sequence yet. Check out this thread for a great pattern/3D foamie. I can send you the drawings I've collected and a list of optional changes and you can scale it to whatever size you'd like. Haven't seen a foamie yet that will fly pattern like it. Bonus is that you can do smooth 3D with it all in the same flight without moving the pack.

Best news I've had all spring. Id be more than happy the receive any drawings you have for this plane and if I can't find blucore I'll stiffen things up with CF &/or spruce strips. Now if I can get my thumbs to work more like Blake's I'll be in great shape. Thanks for all. Don
