Question Playing music through ESC

This may be a very stupid question, but is it at all possible to program a tune into a ESC, instead of the regular, default sounds. I was thinking of as simple as midi sounds ('cause I guess you cannot get vocals out of your motor-coils...but who knows?)

If there are ESC's like that, which brand and how difficult is it?

Or am I just fantasizing?:p

Thanks
Bert

To answer your question directly, yes it is possible to program an ESC to make music. That is how the guys like Castle Creations make those noises. However, I am not aware of any manufacturer that makes programming custom sounds into their ESC's readily available.

Because no one I know of makes this easy, you would have to reprogram the MCU on someone's ESC to make your own sounds. Then to prevent you from killing the ESC use, you would have to add your own ESC code.

What you end up with is a custom built ESC with your own music. Not a trivial task.

Yes some Aero-nuts ESC's uses a program card that allows one to choose from 10 songs to be played on initialization.

Most Turnigy can do just that:

But you have to use the programming card to access that set-up:

It also work with Feigaho esc and many others re-branded esc

Well, Day-yam! If that's true then I want the ESC in my next bird to signal it's awake with Those Magnificent Men (In Their Flying Machines)!

You need that programming card to do it(cannot access that program with Tx only)and it work with most Turnigy clones(like all Feigao esc). There is 15 tunes:
Susanna(usa)
To Alice(Germany)
Ode to joy(Germany)
Take off your hood(China)
Jasmine(China)
Red river valley(Canada)
Auld Lang syne(Scotland)
Jingle bells(usa)
Song of matadors(Spain)
The end of the world(usa)
Rhythm of triumph(Germany)
Love is blue((usa)
Beautiful Spanish lady(Italy)
Post carriage(Japan)
Love bird(China)
And the choice of no tune, you can stop the tune just by starting the motor (Some tunes last a relatively long time)
Sorry no "magnificent men"

Nor anything else flying oriented unless you count "Jingle Bells" (or perhaps "Jasmine" )
