Lost signal twice, same plane, same location

Lost signal twice, same plane, same location
I've been flying for years and I've read about this, but never experienced it until today and two weeks ago.
Here's the facts.
DX7 radio 2.4 Ghz
Spektrum RX
Model about 50 yards away.
Same Model each time
Same general area of flying area
Have been flying there for years never a problem before
Twice in a row I've lost signal of all control surfaces
Ending in a crashes both times.
This second time my flying buddy noticed a commuter train passing by within a 100 yards. Not sure if the train was present the first time I was flying alone and didn't notice.
Questions
1. Does this sound like a coincidence? Me thinks not.
2. We assume the train has wifi on it, could that affect the signal?
3. Battery in TX shows well above the warning line
4. The same day we used the same radio but different plane, flew in the same area a number of times, not problem, but no train passing by either.
5. How do I tell if this is a RX issue or a TX issue? Is that even possible?
6. Both crashes were in succession two weeks apart does this give us a clue?
7. Wish I knew if the train was passing by the first time, but I don't. Bummer

Your RX could have a bad antenna. If no one else has ever had that problem, and you only had this problem with this rx, twice in a row. I would suspect the RX. Maybe an antenna broke and the one left is blocked at that specific location/orientation. I'd try a different RX in the plane or use the current one in range test mode at the limit of it's range and see if you can reproduce the effect by rotating the plane.

One of the Wifi bands is 2.4g, but we fly in an unbelievable mess of 2.4 and every other frequency you can name. The codeing and protocols in our receivers make it possible.
Can you add a satellite receiver? Widely spaced receivers on a plane rarely have problems.
If you were flying in the same attitude both times, then maybe your antennas were in a shadow of the battery or something else.
