I recently found out about this module and thought I should share.



Lemon-RX has released a Spektrum TX Compatible full range telemetry system.

You basically get everything you need including sensors for $44.80. It's not compatible with the Spektrum sensors, but comes with most that you would want anyway. The next time I need a module, this is what I plan to try.

Looks very promising. I'm letting the first settlers take all the arrows first.

Looks very good for many users but I generally put telemetry in my big helis and they are 12s powered and pull over 150A, so this units 30v / 60A limit is a complete show stopper for me, otherwise I'd have ordered at least three right away.

The 7.2v input limit is also a concern but I'm hoping that's not a hard limit and it would cope with powering off a 2s LiPo direct (8.4v max) as almost all receivers do these days.

I'm assuming the "big" heli's you mention are 700's and run two parallel 6s.....that would explain the 12s.......something like a Quanum system can manage that amperage, Spektrum makes one as well.

Yeah, if you were to bench test that setup with a BIG power supply, you'd need an 120 Volts AC source with a 60 Amp breaker on it.

I've got kind of a long story... I bought a used unit from a user over on RcGroups. He listed it as working, but with XT60 connectors that he put on. The sensor didn't seem to work at all when I got it, but looking at how others made the same conversion I noticed something. The connectors were reversed, the current was flowing the wrong way. Positive and negative were correct. I reversed the connectors and it started working. But.... now anytime the current draw went above 30 amps, the telemetry read 0.... This apparently was a bug is some of the early units. I contacted LemonRx hoping for a discount on a unit. They sent me a new one for free!

The new unit works great. I've attached some pictures of the telemetry current and voltage from both the telemetry module and a EMeter2 I now have. The telemetry reads close. Within 3% or so. The current reads just a little high on the telemetry module.

I've been using a freeware Spektrum telemetry data viewer that works pretty well. TLMViewer,

The only shortcoming I see with the Lemon system is the lack of antenna information. Fades/Holds... That type of data.

So far I'm pretty happy, but I've only had a handful of flights with it so far.

i also am trying these rx's for the first time and i must say it worked great today.

steve, wow!! thats a lot of graphs your displaying....,i hope they are showing positive results on the newer lemon rx's. todays flight was on a 6channel with satellite rx mounted out on the wing. i have a micro 6ch lemon i plan on installing on a smaller quad sometime. they are so affordable ,it doesn't hurt to stock up.
