Default sonic modell p51 red tail

came across this at great hobbies (our home depot style hobby shop in ontario)
price is a lot better then horizon eflite or fms.
It seems well built but searching 20 pages in on the "park flyers" threads I can't see any mention of any sonic modell planes?
few concerns since Google and YouTube has very little info on them also .
the price usually reflects quality but I'm hoping this isn't the case in this situation, it claims to have retracts and parts are actually more available then the eflite model ( at great hobbies)
should I steer clear ?
thanks

To the best of my knowledge and recollection, Sonic is the name of a model, not the brand name......as an example the Phoenix model Sonic sold by Tower Hobbies......!

The Red Tail P-51 you mention appears to be an inexpensive China knock-off sold at places like Harbor Freight or five and dime (dollar stores) or on cheaper Amazon, E-Bay outlets.....buyer beware kind-of stuff.

I have been shopping for another warbird for weeks, I got my t28 bnib in a trade for a boat I had , it wasn't my 1st choice but I didn't want a scale p51 or p47 learning how to fly so it was my cheapest option, now I've got the Trojan dialed in a wanted to find something like a p51 that was under $300 cad , I can get the p47 pnp for $310plus tax cad at my lhs but this one is $160 so there's a big price difference. if it's absolute garbage it's not worth it but if I can thro in my spare 40amp and 1250kv and an ar800 I have
It won't be too bad . I might go look at It this weekend and see anyways , just so I can see

Check Motionrc. They ship to Canada. Their Flightline series is excellent. I've had the smaller Spitfire and the F7F TigerCat. Top notch quality and their service is top notch. Second to none. I buy all my planes from them. I've also had the big FMS P-51. A hoss . Big Beautiful Doll. Loaded with lights, gear door sequencers, etc. Another great FMS plane is the new PC-21. $200 and comes loaded. Nice foam too. You can buy direct from FMS. Sold all of the above to buy more jets. For speed, I still have the Roc Hobby P-51 Voodoo in the Reno racer series. $200.00 Blistering fast. In fact, faster than any of my edf's and I have many . Will do 130-140 on 6S. Cool scale replica of the full scale Reno Racer. They also have Strega, a Super Corsair in the mix. My other favorite prop electric is balsa and ply. The EMB Phoenix Tucano sold through Tower Hobby. The arf can be bought for about $110.00- $120.00 Comes covered but you have to put it together and add 4 std servos. A motor(Powerup 46) and 70-80 amp esc - Headsuprc.com Everything else is included including a Cnc machined nosed gear, detailed cockpit, etc. Takes a couple of nights if you're new to this. Built like a brick sheethouse. Beautiful plane. Mine is tricked out with retracts but the stock lg is fine. Can run 4-6 cell. So, for about USD $250.00-$300.00 you get one really nice flying well built plane.

Check out the threads over on RCG. There's a thread on virtually every plane out there. Also, check RCG classifieds. You can find great deals. Sometimes NIB. Just depends.

Squawking 1200 !

I decided to bail on the unknowns and stick with the good ones , found a older PZ p47 thunderbolt no flaps or retracts for $125 cad tomorrow
and a newer eflite p47 Kansas tornado with flaps and retracts for $250 cad next weekend. 3 warbirds should last me a while

Way to go!

You say that now but this hobby can be as addictive as opiods. Lol

I'll check back in a year and see how your squadron has grown. Ha

Best of luck !

grabbed this today , older Pz p47 but it's in pretty good shape and came with a new cowl , 4blade prop and adapter (probably won't use ) and a full air frame spare cockpit fuse and wing with tail rudder, landing gear rods and elevator all in decent shape all I need is servos and wheels and I have everything else to build a second plane all for $125cad and the bonus I met the guy at a large scale plane rally. good day in the plane world
