well the cub ran into a tree for stalling while going forward i kept losing alttitude so fast and i tried bringing her down but i didnt have the airspeed to so i ran right into a tree.

Then i decided to take the electronics out and build a plane a mutated spruce goose the only spruce goose thing about it is the fuselage.I will do test flights tomorrow and video tape it i hope it flies ok.

It kind a looks like a Spruce Goose...sorta...in a funny kind of way . I'm just playing with ya GA, nice work. Sorry to see your Cub in pieces. My buddy flew his for quite awhile before it finally gave up the ghost.

Good luck with the maiden.

Hey thanks. Hey quick question this bird uses a 7cell nimh battery 8.4v 600mah. And i have a parkzone j3 cub battery that has the same value its just the cells are fatter and shorter in height could i use this? I hope it flies alright and stays stable.

Thanks again.

if the voltages are the same, yup.

just make sure that there's to a weight issue that will mess up your cg.

Nose heavy planes fly funny, tail heavy planes fly once. Better to be a little nose heavy than tail heavy.

I have always liked my planes slightly nose heavy, makes them easier to control for dead stick landings.

I've found that any tailheavyness ( is that a word?) makes the plane too sensitive for me to handle. right before it hits the ground..

well the Spruce Goose did not turn out too good i forgot that this wing i was using was the flawed one that i had built a while ago so the Goose kept droping the right side wing and yet both wings looked symmetrical but then the goose i guess died on me the control surfaces werent working right. So i scrapped the goose since it was a bad design anyways and i found my old Parkzone J3 Cub's body and i reassembled it to the best i could and i put the SDM's electronics in there. Its ok i guess but these electronics are soo bad! The engine keeps pulsing i guess because it has so much power now with the Good Parkzone battery and its like 2oz heavier too so the J3 cub is not flying as good as the real cub does with the proprietary gear and everything. Im having problems with the J3 cub because the wings keep droping side to side and it has to fly about twice as fast. I havent gotten it up past the trees yet so im not sure how well this will work. One things for sure though once i get the Optic 6 i will get a PNP version of the J3 Cub and put those in there i think i will add flaperons too on it because the Optic 6 will have that. But otherwise i have no cameraperson right now so no videos. At least the cub has enough power to climb but after a while it starts pulsing so i cant fly at full throttle plus i had to cram everything in the Cub's body but once i get the bugs worked out i think that the J3 will fly better.
