Default 59" foamie Grumman Goose

I've already got a build-log going on over at RCG, but thought I'd share over here too. Here's my 1/10 scale Grumman Goose that I am building for the Fun-build #5. Made from FFF and 1/2" pink foam, it will be covered with newspaper and Titebond II... and yes, she will be flown from water.

Anyway, enough chit-chat... here are some pics:

Excellent! I love that it's got a real interior.

Looks like a first rate foam job. A lot of people build with foam, but not that many build that well with it.

How is the Goose coming along, Warhead? I have been wanting to build a Goose for quite some time, now. Your dimensions are spot on with the size I was considering! I had googled Goose RC plans and found the thread on RC Groups. I've downloaded the plans. I have a couple of projects to get through first, but really am excited for this one. I've been in love with the Grumman Goose since I was a kid watching "Tales of the Gold Monkey" on tv. Thank you for posting your work!

I've been wanting to build one of these myself, and just came across another plan for reference, if you're thinking of building one. Not quite the same thing, but close:

I managed to get it maidened in time to meet the build-off deadline, and haven't flown it since. I ended up winning the contest, due largely because many planes weren't quite finished yet... but there were several beautiful entries that it's a shame they didn't maiden in time. Between the weather and kids, I've just had very little time to fly, but I plan to mount my GoPro camera inside the cockpit and get some in-flight videos soon.

Don't be so modest! The Goose is outstanding! Especially considering it was damaged and repaired in time for the contest end. Well done!

Definitely impressive! How did your daughter feel about Barbie and Ken being recruited as pilot and copilot?

Good job on the win. I know how it is, with so few models completed when I won the FB4. Makes it easier, but you still deserved it.
Watching the video I'd almost think it was nose heavy, but the pilot knows better than a video watcher. I imagine it's sorted out now with a bit of tweaking.
