I have also converted to brushless but haven't flown with the new modifications. I also have larger 2 1/2 inch main gear wheels. I have a MP Jet Syncro 28 20-7 which should do the job. One of the guys in my club has one with an AXI 2820 and he flies well with it. I made a steerable tail wheel which makes taxiing manageable.

I Believe The Superstar Is The Best 1st Plane On The Market It Is Very Forgiving I May Be Biased Because It Was My Second Plane And It Convinced Me To Stay In The Hobby, Last Year At This Time I Was Trying To Learn To Fly On A Hobbyzone Firebird Commander Ii And Was Ready To Throw In The Towel Then I Joined A Club And The Club President Turned Me Onto A Superstar And I Was Hooked But The Short Flying Time Made Me Want To Experiment With Brushless And Lipos I Now Have 6 Planes But I Still Like To Start The Day With The Superstar To Get The Thumbs Woke Up And Ready To Go And End The Flying Day With A Nice Relaxing Superstar Flight Before I Leave The Field Just My Honest Oppinion

I've also found out that the flight time on my stock 2100mah NiCd battery is in the range of 5 to 8 min. I went out and bought a 3600mah NiMh battery made by SANYO from Hobby People for 40$. It gives me about a 10 to 15 min. flight. It keeps me on the flying field a lot longer. I got longer flight times by extending my wings also. I added 4 inch winglettes to the ends and it makes it a lot more stable and it floats i the air longer with no power. I just power it up to climb for altitude then glide it down. I get longer flights by doing that.
