Talking First gremlin contest and first midair.

I finally got to a Gremlin contest that wasn't rained out or I forgot there was a combat meet. What a blast chasing each other around the sky trying to cut each others ribbon. I took the first spot landing for 1/3 point, and a second one. and won the last combat flight of the day. It's a lot harder than it looks.

That last ribbon cutting session was also my first midair collision we were both in close and missed each other a couple of times. Then it happened loud bang and mine came out of the sky he was able to get his down with a broken fuselage that was flapping, and one aileron ripped off. We were both laughing as this does happen time from time. so I got wet behind the ears with ribbon cutting and I got my first collision out of the way in one day.
Best part was when we found my Gremlin in 2 pieces I had his ribbon wrapped around my fuse so I won that round tough way to win, but a win's a win.

I tell ya what it is a adrenaline rush doing the ribbon cutting we flew 3 minute bouts and it seemed we just launched and the CD was calling disengage. The time went by soooo fast when your trying to get in close for a cut and concentrating on not only your plane, but trying to watch what the other guy is doing so you can try and line up for a cut.

I went to the LHS and picked one up this morning want it ready for the last event of the year up in NH. This is what you get for 35 dollars. Here is a link you can browse for the gremlin kits and competition rules and videos Jim has up. You do have to go through the website to see some of the stuff. The guy is great to do business with. http://www.racores.com/

We missed you in NH last weekend. We allhad a good time and bent a few planes. Bob B had one launch that blew off the wing climbing out and javelined the fuselage pretty far down range. We figure the bolts were damaged in the previous cartwheel landing. I donated the usual cuts to the winners and finished the year with a good reason to build new for next season. Can't complain about 3 seasons and many midairs for my stock class ship.

Oh, and we got two GremTwins spinning at the same time at the beginning of the day but of course the camcorder jammed the tape and missed it.

Jim sounds like a good time would of loved to have seen Rob's fuselage depart from the wing. One of those what the F#%# moments.
Well next season I hope to get to more of them it is a blast trying to cut ribbons, and not to hit each other at the same time. I missed going up for the last gremlin competition.
Unfortunately I had to watch the granddaughter instead no way was I going to take her along.
I got Gremlin II ready and flown last Sat. flew nice just like a gremlin should.

Looks good. I've programmed it into my targeting computer now

I totally understand about Grandpa daycare duties. That is how I spend a good part of my week also.

The Gremlins fly well all winter since they don't need a runway to take off and land, they don't care about the footprints in the snow. Just be careful because the PVC gets brittle when it gets too cold out
