I agree completely. In my endeavor to return to RC Jeff has answered emails promptly as well being extremely helpful and informative even with a whole host of questions I had for him.

Jeff, thanks for the last email. Have you got that inrunner for the easy* yet? Himax has a drop in (2815-2000) just checking. I may go with a inrunner conversion sleeve I saw on RCG I think, but it will allow you to run any outrunner, so you will get my motor money either way. Welcome to your WF forum.

Just to add a little more. I made my first order of things recommended by Jeff on Sunday night (11th) and recieved the parts from him today. Three days to see the order process it and get it to my door pretty good I think.

Emailed Jeff about that yesterday. He says they're about 10 days out on the UBECs.

I just received a PM from one of the moderators asking if I had seen this thead. Wow! I wasn't expecting so many responses!!! Also, I thought that I was automatically subscribed, and I hadn't received any email notifications for new posts, so I assumed all was quiet here. I'm really sorry for the delay in responding.

For those of you not familiar with ESCs and UBECs, here's the information provided in the listing:
3 Amp UBEC - Universal Battery Elimination Circuit
This3 amp Universal Battery Elimination Circuit (UBEC) is a 'switch mode' DC regulator that takes the high voltage (up to 23 volts) of the main battery pack and converts it to a consistant and safe 5 or 6 volts (selectable) for your receiver and servos. A UBEC is needed if the Electronic Speed Control (ESC) being used for the motor does not have a built in Battery Elimination Circuit (BEC), or if the BEC of the ESC is inadequate to power the number and/or size of servos being used.
Using a 3A UBEC is a safer way to go on large models for the following reasons:
1. Most built-in BEC circuits are 1 to 2 amp 'linear mode' circuits which are only useful for 2 or possibly 3 standard size servos when using a 3 cell Lipo battery. If you use more servos, or a higher voltage battery pack, you will almost certainly overload the BEC, causing a crashed model.
2. In an ESC with a built-in BEC, excessive heat generated in the ESC by the current draw of the motor and/or BEC can cause total loss of power to the receiver/servos, resulting in a crashed model. The chance of total loss of power is greatly reduced when a separate receiver battery pack or UBEC is used. If the ESC overheats and shuts down (no power to the motor), you will still have power to the receiver/servos, and will be able to maintain control of the model.
The UBEC is connected directly to the main battery pack of an electric model, the same as the ESC. In fact, the power input wires of the UBEC are often spliced into the power input wires of the ESC. The power output wires of the UBEC have a receiver connector on them, and this is usually plugged into any open channel of the receiver. If the ESC being used has a built in BEC, that BEC must be disabled when using a UBEC. To disable the BEC of an ESC, simply disconnect the red wire on the receiver plug of the ESC.
Also, I'd like you all to know that I will be adding a line of Electronic Speed Controls that have a built-in 3A 'switchmode' battery elimination circuit. I expect to be selling a 40A version in about 2 weeks, and I will eventually be adding other sizes as well. A

Hi Jeff
A few Items that us Rcrs are always looking for, is aluminum landing gear, for profile planes and regular rc planes, and wheel axles, 4mm and smaller, this might be a great addition to your store, as you already sell wheels, I have pointed a lot of people to different places to get landing gear for a prolile planes, as not very many vendors carry profile landing gear, it might be a nice nitch market for you, just my 2 cents worth, Take care, Chellie
