MADS Model Aviators of Defuniak Springs
#1

The Model Aviators of Defuniak Springs (MADS) flies at the MADS Field. It is located about 9 miles North of De Funiak Springs just off of US HWY 331 on CASSWELL ROAD. Members may fly at any time this includes Week Ends, Holidays, and Week day lunch hour. Most members are sport or scale flyers.
Membership in the AMA (www.modelaircraft.org) is required to fly, for insurance purposes and local club membership is also required.
Guests are welcome to come out anytime that club members are flying and watch the flight activities. Children must be closely supervised by parents to insure their safety and that they do not interfere with flight operations. Pets should not be brought out as the high frequency engine noise could be very painful for their ears, or they may run in front of a taxiing aircraft.
Spectators or anyone wishing to become a club member and aircraft modeler should identify themselves to club members so that they can have questions answered and be given a flight operation orientation.

Jacksonville is about 4.5 hours to the east. There are several clubs over in that area. You might want to look into those. But you are more than welcome to participate in any of the MADS events.

There's quite a few local schools with nice sized fields. Also, you look into flying out at the lake at Hannah Park. Don't let the trees fool you, there are a lot of open areas out there. The good thing about Hannah Park is that you have a fresh water lake and then on the other side of the road is the beach! It would be great for AP especially if you had a belly-slider. Hannah Park is located off of Mayport Rd, right before the Mayport Naval base on your right hand side. I hope you enjoy your move...there's lots to do friend!

FL Panhandle Pilots,
We sure could use your help with our adventure on flying an RC plane around the USA.
You guys are right in the "flight path" and we need someone to fly the FL leg.
More info can be found here.

Sure would appreciate the help.

Well, I finally signed up, and am an official member of the club. Now I won't feel guilty for flying at the field with no one there.
the club has undergone some changes, and from what I see, many improvements are in the works.

Is there going to be a mall show tomorrow?
They forced everyone out of the state parks, sent me home, told me not to come in tomorrow. I think they're taking this coming storm pretty serious.
