Default HZ Super Cub…what next?

I’ve been flying the Super Cub and G4 simulator for about a month and want to start looking for something a little more challenging. One of the guys at my LHS has suggested a Mini Edge 540 used for ~ $200. I fly in a high school football stadium parking lot. Any thoughts or suggestions for my next purchase?

Looks interesting. You will have to tell us what you think of it when it arrives. Anyone else have one of these?

Thanks,

Mark

Hands down alfa models dude, really easy to fly and they look great, they can fly slow and fast so depending on your skill level and the don't stall too much either I think a great 2nd plane.

Hold on a second. You've only been flying a super cub for a month? No way you're ready for a something like the Edge or any warbird. I'm amazed a hobby store would steer you that way.

Look for a high wing aileron trainer. E starter is a good example.

Buy a good radio like the DX6i. I like the GWS foam kits, easy to build and easy to repair if crashed. You can also soup up your Super Cub. I have a SC that is a blast to fly. It has ailerons, big brushless motor, 2100 lipo battery and lots of fiberglass and CF reinforcement. It weighs 11oz more than stock. It does not "float" like it used to, but it is a lot faster and zooms around like a sport plane.

Dude you do need a good radio, I have a DX7 very good if not on the pricey side so a dx6 or 5 would do you, also I have only been flying for 2 months at first i have a park zone super decathlon for a week and got bored of it, then got myself a DX7 and a shocky flew that for about 3 weeks and then moved on to an alfa models P 47, I also used a sim for about a month before I got anything so, you can move on to a warbird, but find a plane you like the look of and then post it on here and ask, as some planes I would still not move to because I still need more experience

forget getting a new plane for now... get a decent radio, like the dx6i and upgrade your supercub, this will feel like a new plane, and give you many more options later...

I bought one of those for AL awhile back, it flys good, but be sure not to put too much throw on the elevator, or when you pull back to hard, it will flip over... (common on warbirds)

I learned to fly rc flying the Parkzone T-28 Trojan after 3-4 months of sim time.

http://www.youtube.com/user/fresbill

It's a great aileron plane, and very stable. Go w/ the PNP version and use your own tx and rx. Make sure you set the CoG correct and you're set. Horrible paint is the biggest negative, as it comes off pretty easy.

Thanks guys for all your input. Im leaning towards the PZ T-28. One of the guys at one of my LHS suggested it. Sounds like a great little plane. Glad to see others here think so too.
