Cebola

Just getting back into flying after raising my family and retiring. Neighbour has be flying for 30 years and claims the Ugly Stik is one of the best designs ever made.

Since I am skipping the messy gas/fuel experience and going directly to electric, I think your plane would be a wonderful start.

ciao

Thanks so much,

I also would like to get a plan, gravityrepdaveatcomcastdotnet

Is that a rib for your next build??? if so it will be interesting, I wonder how many Lipo's it would take to fly it.

Very good looking plane, you are a talented builder, and I can see you pay attention to details.

Thank you for sharing your plans with so many people.

The fuse was made whit balsa strips, also the stabilizer and rudder.
The wings are the same from the original design, also the landing gear, and the firewall, that was made in aluminum and balsa composite.

The model weights only 60oz, whit out batteries, and is powered by a Hyperion 3025 - 1- turning a 10X7 APC prop at 10.000 RPM.

In flight is very docile and except for the powerful engine, behaves like the regular Ugly Stick.

Some technical data

Wing span 65"
Wing Chord 12"
Length 50"
Engine -Hyperion 3025 -10
Batteries E model 4S 4A

I hope you like it!
And if you do, and need the plans, just send me your e mail.

I would like a set of plans for the electric stick if still available. Thanks.

Bob

PS I just found out that I'm unable to post my e mail address until after I have 3 posts. Sounds like a dumb rule but it's not my forum. I hope you can get my e-mail address from my profile.

Default Great saddness

It appears that asking for plans via email is useless. Much saddness.

Not sure if it will help you, but I ended up rejecting the UStick idea and building a local variant of a SCC combat plane.
No regrets, tough as boots, but flies like an old school combat control liner.
Our clubs info about the project here.

Default Ugly Stick redrawn plans

I found a set of plans by searching for ugly stick CAD plans. At the bottom of the page is an updated version of the Ugly Stick. It is the same as the Phil Kraft plans except it has been modified to have capping and a single piece wing.
I had already started my build from the origional Phil Kraft drawings that had been put into CAD. I will be using the design changes made in the new drawings. I have a Fusalage and tail complete.

This thread is old, and in case the plan is not available you can get it from Outerzone. Address is : http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=1253

Has the diagonal bracing in the stab but it looks sheeted also. Easily modified.

Enjoy, the Das Ugly Stick is a great flyer.
