Question which battery

i get my radiolink at9s pro transmitter tomorrow but im having a very hard time finding a battery for it. i would like to go with a 3s lipo or a life pack. i dont know what to be looking for,can i use a 3s 1800 lipo and solder jst leads to the large power wires or do i solder the jst to which balance wires ? so confusing, never used life batteries before and dont know what i need. either way it seems like i have to open battery bay and unplug jst connector every time i need to charge it. pain in the butt,i would be happy just using a nicad pack so i could charge through port on radio via usb. cant find any nicad packs either, im totally confused, please give me some advice. thank you.

NiCd are not available retail ..... but replaced by NiMh .....

LiFe will give you greater use time due to higher capacity vs size / weight ... but you will need to charge outside radio. It will also need a charger that has LiFe mode.

LiPo will give also greater use time ... but now you could use a budget balance lead only charger ... you can find these for less than $10 or so ... they balance charge via balance plug and no need for main plug to be disconnected from radio etc.

As regards the JST plug ... the wire size on the battery will likely be too great for the JST plug .. so if that's the plug needed - then joining lead from JST to battery lead will be way to go.or just go for one like this :

Amazon Amazon

Already set up for the job .....
