S6R doesnt enter bind mode

S6R doesnt enter bind mode
I cant make my S6R bind to my new Taranis XD9 SE 2019, I tried:
1) D16 mode in binding then failsafe switch on S6R then power on
2) Transmitter off + failsafe switch on S6R and power on
In both the cases S6R remains in solid green light when failsafe is pressed before power on.
It doesnt enter binding mode on its own, what do I do?
Without failsafe it keeps on blinking red signal lost mode both if the transmitter is ON or OFF
Both my Taranis and S6R belong to US firmware version

Pressing the FS button and powering the S6R DOES bind it to the radio, BUT, it then has GOT to be programmed in all axis before use.
