Default Has anybody tried using the BCX2 radio for a plane?

I Would like to re-use my BCX2 spektrum radio for my first RC plane. Has anybody tried this? I was thinking about just buying another BCX 4 in 1 and using it on the plane, but if there is another way I'd be interested. I don't want to commit to a DX6 or DX7 radio and recievers just yet. (but i will.)

I want to build a Flying flapjack:
