I think everyone who has replied has told you those connectors you have are junk and not to use them - soldered or not Even the nicer ones linked to by dereckbc are not suitable for our models

Brass conductivity is better than steel, possibly not as good as aluminum. Being a copper alloy its not going to be as good as copper but not as bad as the tin its mixed with.

You can scrape the plating off on the outside of the female connector or someplace away from where the bullets will mate up. This will only affect corrosion resistance which is not likely to be the reason the connector fails if never exposed to water.

The Brass is there for mechanical strength or hardness.
