Well i could use your handyman here. I just am taking a break from cutting up the tree so the Antenna Installers can put up a new one. Man at my age it sure gets harder every year to do that kind of work. I managed to get enough cut so that we have line of sight for the dish.

we will Sunday, wind today is 25+mph gusty. Just finished a new wing for fpv. Have to find a lost model alarm in the drawers so I can fly her Sunday along with a few quads and the hummer.

New wing is a Crashtesthobby Assassin 37inch epp wing. motr is a Gforce 28-35-2400kv rated for 4 cell. 80 amp hobbybwing esc. emax 9gr metal gear servos. APC 6x4e prop using 3 cell 2200mah 40c zippy batts first and 4 cell later, also using Orange 7 channel rx. No fpv gear till she proves airworthy . Will post pictures.

This is one of my flying buddies retrieving his plane. No floats but he wished he had them. I may even do some floats now as the dam is full again. EPP floats very well but one wing servo got water in it.

Looks like the Dancing Wings Pitts from Hobby King but the fuselage logo is missing the Dancing Wings bit ...

Yep, the later ones don't have that logo.
I have 2 of them and 2 Pokes. I enjoy flying them. I fitted retracts to one of the Pokes. I was given the poor old battered thing as it wouldn't fly for him and rebuilt it with retracts. It looks pretty rough but flies real nice.
I got my Pitts Bipes for about 1/2 the price they want for them now. The Pokes were cheaper.

Had planned to fly yesterday. Beautiful weather and then the power steering in my Honda started spewing oil out so I spent the day dismantling the PS pump and using sealant around the internal 'o' rings as they had gone hard. Couldn't get bits over Easter. Anyway it has worked, No more leaks so maybe some flying today.

Even A gyro in a giant scale would have been off the table here, today. Warm but too gusty. Thankfully the USP and USPS guys dropped of all the stuff for a new 48" Yak!

I am considering heading to the field even though its raing lightly.....it was supposed to clear up already all batteries charged and ready to go,car is loaded. crud. GGGGRRRRrrrrrrrr

I also have a new concern. Donald Trump is going to spend his summer weekends at his golf resort in Minister County,New Jersey. No fly zone are 20mile radius innerzone and then added 60 mile outer zone. this would put him 88miles away from my house and another 9miles or so from my flying field. thats where if they simply add the extra zone....we get grounded from my house and north to the field do to the radius of 3770square miles of no fly zone.. when will ama get us cleared for flying during these times. Oh well, another discussion for another time. Right now I just want the rain to stop.

This has been the worst and rainiest winter I have seen in years. I am a Washington state native, but this year has been ridiculous. Have managed a few days at the field, but mostly windy if not raining

Best day of the year so far. I should have used sunscreen. Flying fpv, I keep my hat off more now and am burned what with being bald and all. No wind, plenty of sun and not crowed at all. Maybe 6 of us flying and mostly fpv. Sadly, I'm putting a stack of batteries on storage charge till next weekend and several quads and wings need tweeking to be flown.

all good fun.

It's been super-windy here for more than a month, but it got pretty calm when the sun went down yesterday.

look good for the foreseeable future. Sigh

'Sup?

It's been a while, but the flying weather is back in the Northeast. Last year was a low in terms of flying. Crashed something big early on and kind of lost my mojo. This year will be much better! Got into fixed wing FPV and I really love it.

What's up with you guys

Default A little windy this morning.

Well when i went out to fly this morning it wasn't too bad.
I put the Infineon up and flew for a couple of circuits inside the treeline and
then the wind started gusting and tossing the infineon around so i chickened
out and landed. I didn't enjoy flying in the wind so that's it for today.

Today is supposed to be the Invitation meeting to celebrate opening of 2017 season. I really looked forward to it ... but today wind is terrible, its cold and raining !
Discussing with others yesterday on Skype ... they reckoned to have bbq anyway ... to which I just said ... drive 120kms to stand in a cold hangar ... drink ... eat and then drive back 120kms ?? (You have to understand that only one person actually speaks English there ... so it's not much fun if no flying !!)

I stayed home.
