Default Scratch built WW-1 plane

Find some 3-vew drawings and sketch a full size plan for cutting out Dow
blue foam parts. Bend to shape and glue with hot glue. Use skewers for
struts and GWS skinny wheels covered with thin foam discs. Save weight
at every opportunity. Fly with small outrunner and two cell lipo. With
short nose, like Nieuport, put battery directly beneath motor., This beats
high cost and is real fun !

Here is my scratch built tri using 3 pico Tiger Moth wings. I found 3view on net. Used graphic program to enlarge to same scale as wings. Page printed with Paint. Taped the pages together. Used foam board bought at WalMart for under $3. Cowl is make from liter bottle. Brushless motor. 8 Nimh batteries mounted just behind motor.

I think it flys great. I can fly it in more wind than any of my other foamys. I have a brushless geared motor with 1080 prop. I have only been flying sence last fall so not real good pilot yet. Last time I flew the triplane I got it to do 3 loops in a row. My other planes, GWS Slow Stick F, Wattage Camel, GWS Pico Tiger Moth, Kaven Albatros, will only do one loop and then stall out on the second one.
I have now started my second WW1 scratch build using a set of GWS Slow Stick wings. The thread is Loening M-8. http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19165
