Default from glow to electric

New here nice site great info iam working of converting two planes a ace simple 51 and a 50 inch wing span J3 cub to electric
the ace simple P51 is light but has little room to install a battery i am hopeing to use a 2 cell 7.4 2200 to save what little room i have only motor i have right now is a super cobart 400 and ic 380 esc a little heavy but has good power with a small 6x4 prop could use some help on will that battery run that motor i tested it but only ran it full for under 3 minutes any ideas thanks remember not much room for a battery

Choose a battery with a high "c" value. This will give you more power so you can reduce your throttle and give you a longer flight time.

Ok, now I see where this is going.... (After posting in the other thread you started) As I suspected your battery is not going to be enough.

The problem with the SS planes are they need speed to fly. They fly on the prop, not the wing.

I don't think that setup is going to fly that plane well. I realize you are trying to use what you have but in all honesty you'd be better with a 3S lipo and an outrunner with 100-120W of power and ~950-1050kV.

I have the Extra 320 (I think that's the plane) from that same Simple Series and plan to power it with a 400XT, 3S 1050mA lipo and an 8x6SF prop. AUW will be about 19 ounces.

Yes Twmaster i see what your saying these ace simple planes lack room for large batterys not sure were i can steal room for even a 3s battery and be able to find the right cg too not like my cub i have were i use two gp 3000 mah batterys and still have room to add lol thanks for the help good info
