That Stearman is very easy to fly, that's why it is still my favorite. My flying skill is pretty average. I can't do touch and go on other planes . I already made six planes. The seventh plane is on progress, it is 1200 mm F4U Corsair.

I need to explore doing a foam build soon.
Maybe this old dog can learn a new trick or two!
I love balsa, but not the best pilot, so my builds
get little air time if they make it past the maiden!
Crash & RK97 are an inspiration that may get me
motivated? I love to build, so maybe foam will be
worth trying?

Where you located on the planet?
Must be closer to the equator than myself,
because your palm trees are taller?
Good start on the Corsair!!!

Yes sir I'm from a place in the equator, Indonesia, suburban Jakarta.
I work with foam because it is cheap and pretty easy to work with. I use heat-gun to bend and roll the foam. I use hot-glue to glue all parts. Final step is paint it with water-based acrylic paint. I love scale model RC planes and I make my own plans. From 6 planes that I already made, only one that has plans that is available to share. It is semi-scale 1300 mm Cessna 185.

Here are my wilga and cessna 185, all made with depron foam

That's it. I am seriously considering abandoning balsa.

Thank you sir

here is another one, my first jet also made with depron foam. It is KAI T-50 Golden Eagle with Indonesian Aerobatic team livery. It use pusher propeller on the back. The landing gear are all fixed, non-retract. Too big for first jet, wingspan 120 cm. I don't have it anymore, it sold to my friend here. I only flew it 5 times including maiden and second flight test. Here are some photos, that's my older daughter (9 yo) compare to the jet

Does the climate in Jakarta have any effect on your

Hey there Jules, you are building some beautiful airplanes there.
You seem to have an excellent eye for detail and are quite artistic in your
painting. I look forward to seeing more of you work.

No sir, I haven't have issue about melting or weaken hot-glue. I rarely fly it on a hot day. I prefer early in the morning, like 6-7 AM the wind is calm and the air is still cool. Or in the evening 4-5 PM.

thank you sir,
Before I got into this RC foamie making, I designed paper model patterns, including planes, vehicle, etc and I am still doing it now, so I like having details on my works. This is my corsair progress so far on the attactments. You can also follow my work on my site http://diyfoamplane.com I have cessna 185 plan that you can download there
