I had a message about this plane so I thought an update was in order. The plane is still flying well. The only change to it was to recover most of it. The trans purple faded so badly it was almost pink and it was patched in enough places that it was time. I went white orange and black. (Black on the bottom only.)

I had some good flights this year! Here's one.

Thanks Steve for all the help! I've got all the bits and pieces collected and should receive the kit this week. This thread has helped prepare me and I'm pretty excited to get started..

Default Trimming a sailplane

Hi, I am jondon51, and have just joined from the uk. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question. I bought a 3 meter sailplane from hyper flight in the uk . Went together nicely . So I went for the maiden flight . It is electric and launched it the model is rudder and elevator with spoilers . The cog was a bit nose heavy. The problem is that it takes about 2 or 3 seconds to start to turn . No idea what could be wrong . If the cog is too nose heavy will that cause a delay . I have asked the German maker what are the correct angles on the polyhedral wings but they have not replied yet ...any help would be very much appreciated . Thanks. John

Hi Jondon51,

1st. let me state that I am not an experienced glider pilot. The Chrysalis is my only glider. My glider will not turn on a dime like a Sport plane, but 2 to 3 seconds sounds long. I assume you see that the control surfaces respond as expected on the ground and have enough throw. I would correct he CG. I correctly balanced plane will respond better than one that's not.

Is the response the same in both directions? A twist in my wing will cause mine to turn better in one direction as compared to the other.

Let us know what you find out.

Looks like I might have found the problem with my glider...I put about 30 percent of expo in the rudder mix. That may be the problem after all . Soon see next week when I fly it again.
