Besides, I am saving for a full-house sailplane now, and really, really want an MSR since they are getting so cheap now...The Beast at some point will be mine though, I just can't resist me a good bipe...

The good news is, HH et al, are making brushless minis!!! The future of RC has arrived. Amazing the technological strides the hobby is making!
The UM Beast is not made of balsa. Yes it is going to be fast and agile for sure.

and it comes with a 2 cells 120mah, so a 150 may very well fit. The Suhkoi has a 150 but it is only a 1 cell

True! I swear that the description a week ago said it was a balsa plane! Good to hear, looking more and more tempting!

Looks like a great little plane to me - the performance is stunning. Horizon is just killing my wallet.

ok, so maybe this is a noobish ?, but what difference does it make if it's a 1 cell or a 2 cell, it's still 150 mahs, right?

1 cell is only 3.7 volts, 2 cell is 7.4! double the power!!!

more cells = more power
more Mah = longer flight times

yeah, that's what i though, so half the flight time, than the suk, so you would really want a 150 mah

Not necessarily, it all depends on the motor, how you fly it, weight, etc.

The brushless motor is more efficient, less drag and such, since there is not commutator brushes arcing constantly.

I'd say flight times will be somewhat consistent between the two.

It'll be hard to say what kind of flight times to expect until they start delivering a few of them.

I'll let you know as soon as I get mine!

I can't see it being too dragy, it's a beast! But I see what you mean. I hope two wings will give it more lift, so i can do bomb drops and JATOs

Hey guys, here is an area of concern for me, look at that charger. I don't have a wall outlet with micro alligator connecters! Nor do I really want to buy their ac adapter as well, so how am I gonna charge this baby?

I have to admit that this one is interesting but pricey as it's new of course.
It may well be the future for a lot of us requiring no field to fly at if you have a little space.

Just an FYI, the Beast due date has just been pushed back till mid Nov now. I also have pre ordered mine. I fly a balsa Ultimate(Eflite) so I'm getting the beast to run around the house. Eflite does cover any problems you might have...They are the best. IMO. They replaced a crashed trainer of mine, i sent them the pieces and 1 week later I had a new plane. They also have replaced a battery for my Ultimate. Cost a lil more...sure but (IMO) worth it..

Aloha!
Last Post 10/8/10? No posts in a month and the Beast is already flying in Oz? We may need some ringers and old timers to pick up the conversation. Other forums already have videos, pictures, talking about Mods and how to program the flaperons in your radio. I hope this thread does not need CPR!

CPR??? Sell that crap to Horizon! Heck it's hard to post anything when it's still not available here yet!

Guess we have to live in Oz to be able to get one. I preorderd mine on the day they announced them... and still no peep out of Horizon other than to keep changing the availability date.

I just got a UM p51 BNF of ebay for 49 bucks, and after flying it, I have totaly changed my mind about the beast... I GOTTA HAVE IT! I am just really wanting more power and aerobatics, and this seems to be the solution. And flaperons? I hope that I can just set it up on the radio and be done. SOO EXCITED! Dear santa...
