Default bought this at a garage sale

Hi,I am new to the forum been reading alot of posts with interest.Ipicked up the following at a garage sale all still boxed never used,a coronet acro 400,it comes with axi2814/12 motor, speed control 1700 mah nimh battery,11x5.5 prop, all up weight is about 26 oz,saw an article on the web in quietflyer about this plane this is setup they recommend,my son has r/c cars with lipo battery so i wanted to replace battery with lipo any suggestions on size of battery many thanks

Did you get the 3 or 4 ch with aileron's?,,RC Cars lipos are mostly hard cased and heavier than you'll like,,you can find a 1500-2000 mah for 12 to 15$ that will do fine, from the prop size I can tell it's a two cell lipo that you'll need and the brushed version uses a 6-7 cell Ni-Cad so the volts add up as well ,(7.2-8.6V),,you will need to propdown to a 9/6 if you use a 3-cell lipo by the way,,,,It's a oldtimers plane that should be easy to fly with No Wind at all till you've flown it a while,,then in only light breezes,, Have Fun!!!!bubsteve

it is the aileron rtf version,you say that i have to get a smaller prop,in a review by quiet flyer they used thaty prop,with the battery you recommend how much flytime would you expect,thanks

10-12 min's,,is a safe bet but check it after to see how much you used of it,, the 4-ch ones nice!,bubsteve
